Is JC Gomez afraid to fight Virchis?

The promotional company that manages JC Gomez, Arena Box-Promotions AG, is taking legal action to try to force him to fight Vladimir Virchis.

Why does Gomez not want to fight the WBC eliminator with Virchis? Perhaps it's because Vladimir is a powerful puncher, as we saw in his last fight with Hawkins.

I don't think Gomez is afraid to fight anyone. He just has a long history of management problems, which likely just means that he is difficult to manage. Some boxers are born malcontents, just like people we all have to work with in real life.

Didn't Gomez already win a WBC eliminator when he defeted Oliver McCall recently? And McCall was alreayd the #1 in line after he previously beat Sam in another eliminator. the wbc title is all wrapped up with mandatories, after the Peter/Maskaev/Vitali mess gets sorted out.

and the WBC wants to sell off another eliminator? what a confusing mess. no wonder the wbc almost got liquidated after they lossed the 30 million judgement to Rochigini for the Jones fiasco

This whole story smells fishy, I think Arena is playing games together with Gomez because they didn't win the purse bid for the fight.

I read about a year ago that Vladimir Virchis has a problem finding opponents willing to fight him.

Perhaps this is just another example of it - maybe Gomez doesn't want to take the chance of being knocked out!

It's funny because people on the Russian forum almost unanimously didn't give Virchis even a chance to win, except for a puncher's chance and a slim one at that. I still think that Virchis is underrated but it was an interesting read.

In all fairness it's Gomez who finds it hard to land opponents. I really can't see Gomez being unwilling to fight a certain fighter. I'm not sure what's going on exactly but it would be a pity for boxing if this man Gomez messes things up again or someone else does it for him.

I've been picking Gomez to win too, he has some excellent boxing skills. It's surprising he's not enthusiastic about this opportunity to be in the WBC eliminator.

I see Gomez is ranked by the WBA and now the IBF as well - maybe he's chosen a different route to a heavyweight title.

ALthough Virchis has no skills, I think any fighter would rather fight someone else. Hes just a big mutha ****a with a deadly farmer hand.

No one wants to fight a farmer.

I've read that Virchis has an iron chin - it's next to impossible to hurt him.
