Mayweather to take a Dive against De La Hoya

I have never been so sure of anything in my life. It is the only way this fight makes sense. Watch how this plays out:

Everyone dismisses De La Hoya in this fight. "He's too old, He's washed up." BOOM! Mayweahther gets knocked out. De La Hoya becomes huge. You start reading about how De La Hoya was never washed up because he was never hit hard in his career. You start reading about how he's still one of the top fighters around. You start reading about... DE LA HOYA/MAYWEATHEWER III. Which would be TREMENDOUS. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Now. What about Floyd? Doesn't he care about his legacy? Yes. He does. This will make his legacy. First of all, history doesn't care that much about "0's." Fans care, but history doesn't. History loves great stories... great fights... (Mayweather lacks both at this point). This will give him the great story. Second, this will give him his defining trilogy. A De La Hoya knockout will legitimize all three fights. He'll be welcomed into Golden Boy and have a promotional career infront of him.

Call me crazy now. Feel ****** in September.

Answer me this. If he does in fact take a "dive" in order to set up a trilogy with Oscar, How would that make this a "great trilogy"? All it will be known as is, a choreographed trilogy in order to make both fighters richer than what they really are. What's so great about that?

No it won't. People will say, that Oscar is still boxing at a high level. The media loves the guy. They'll say he was never hit. He never lost anything. IT WILL BE A CHOREOGRAPHED trilogy... but people won't recognize that.

I assume Mayweather would make it look good in the alternate universe where Happy's imagination is a reality

Happy, well done mate, I think you are on to something! I believe it.

Floy would prefer to lose by phony KO to Oscar than by real bloody slaughter to Cotto or Margarito or Williams for less monay.

Floy vs. oscar trilogy will be the greatest semi-reality tv boxing production there ever was! (it will surpass Hopkins-Oscar))
