Shaefer: "Mosley Mentioned A Rematch With Cotto"

"Shane Mosley is not a retired fighter," stated Schaefer, "I actually talked to him yesterday; he called me and he does want to continue fighting if the right fight presents itself. One of two names which he mentioned to me, of course, is Mayweather, and a rematch with Miguel Cotto. So I will be talking to Bob Arum today on some thoughts and ideas I had and we'll see when Shane Mosley's going to be back.

    I say 70-30 it happens. ^

"Now, if neither one of those fights materializes, there obviously are other names in the 147-pound weight class which certainly make for a good fight, be it a Paul Williams, be it an Antonio Margarito, be it a Kermit Cintron."

Mosley is well past it. And would get hammered by both fighters. Call it a day champ.

Addison, I doubt it happens. Cotto is still gunning for Mayweather, so it's not like he is just taking the comers so he can stay on top. He is trying to beat all the potential challengers that Mayweather can take so he can get to him. Margarito is his first one it looks like.

Anyways, Cotto already beat Sugar Shane in a supertough fight. He wouldn't get much more recognition for doing it again. He was the champ, so there wasn't a rematch clause.

I just don't know what Cotto can gain from this, other than getting a wider victory. But just as easily, he could end up losing and ****ing himself.

Paul Williams-Shane Mosley would be cash.

          Dude, what? ^ ?????

Ayways, there are millions of reasons Arum might put Cotto in with Mosley again. Remember who's making the decisions here.

I don't think a rematch with Cotto will happen either. Arum looks like he's trying to have a Cotto vs Margarito match down the line. Mosley should go after Cintron for a title, I'll even say Mosley has a good chance of winning that fight.

              Not cash as in money...

It would be cash as in... that would be tight.

No no, Williams-Mosley would suck **** from a financial standpoint.

I do think Cotto will fight Margarito after Gomez.

Then it might be Mosley, who knows?

It could happen. Mosley is foolish enough to waste his time.

He needs to fight Cotto or Mayweather. Other than that it's pointless.

If Arum can still pull Cotto out of the Gomez fight he'll do it.

I agree but I doubt Mayweather will fight him and Arum is trying to make a Cotto vs Margarito matchup. Going after Cintron and getting a title could make a rematch with Cotto happen later on though.
