I think that pavlik gets beat by Kessler in this fight simply because of the weight differential and the power of kessler, I agree with Young money if taylor could drop pavlik then kessler could do it as well although i voted for a kessler UD

      Kessler UD.

I bet Kelly wouldn't punch a hole in Mikkel like everyone predicts he will.

He wouldn't. Pavlik keeps coming forward, because he's got that "I'm comin' to fight" attitude.

Yeah, do that to Mikkel ****ing Kessler and you'll run into a hard 1-2 all night.

Kessler is faster, stronger, more durable, vastly more skilled, and would have a very easy time finding Pavlik. Pavlik doesn't present 1/5th of the challenges that Calzaghe posed Kessler, and Kessler showed a lot of ability in that fight (he did better against Calzaghe than anyone since Robin Reid).

In the ring, however, Kessler would look like a champion handling a hand-picked stay-busy opponent. I wouldn't even be particularly shocked by a Calzaghe/Lacy-esque dominance. In Kessler's loss to Calzaghe alone, he showed more potential than Pavlik did in any of his fights

Pavlik controls the fight with the jab and stops Kessler in 9. In regards to somebody elses comment Kessler is not really a big one punchout knockoutout artist. He's a good puncher but if he's going to stop a good fighter it's through and accumulation of punishment and he's not a very good finisher basing that on his fight against Andrade.

Kessler will win a decision by about 4 points. Pavlik can be a dominant MW but he will struggle at SMW. The SMW division is stacked with talent right now. The only reason Pavlik should move up is if Calzaghe wants to fight him if they both win their next fights against Taylor and Hopkins.

Cant see Pavlik seriously troubling Kessler at SMW

Oh dear, I mean I like Pavlik too but no way is that happening, Kessler has got an awesome jab.

Pavlik stops Kessler in 9 IF he manages to stay up for that long AND he catches Kessler with a string of good shots, it could happen but I doubt it.

I dont know that much about Kessler's jab but it would have to be pretty impressive for me to rate it above Pavlik's but I dont know what Kessler's height and reach are compared to Pavlik's.

secondly Pavlik has a really a big advantage here in the area of punching power. Repeating my previous post, Kessler is not a knockout puncher, he's a good puncher and he can definitely stop you but it's going to be from an accumulation of punishment and I question his ability to finish guys after the Andrade fight.

                      superficial advantages and disadvantages

                      Punching power Pavik
                      Defense Kessler
                      Height Pavlik (I think)
                      reach Pavlik (I think)
                      stamina Pavlik
                      workrate Pavlik
                      something else Pavlik

none of that **** really matters except in video games but Pavlik does have some things going for him here. I do think there's a big difference in punching power and Pavlik's height and reach.
