Money... wider victory to shut the few up that think Oscar got robbed.

Even so, there isn't much that Floyd can get out of it.

I can't see anything that Oscar can get out of it. I guess a payday too, but it's not like he can't get a pay day and win. He's Oscar ****ing De La Hoya.

This is the biggest money making fight for the both of them. People are slagging this bout much more than it should be. Hell I think there are much more viable bouts out there but this is still a high level bout between two top notch combatants.

It's so sad that scores of ******s are actually going to buy this trash. $50 for another sparring session. Have fun.

I too agree a rematch is not needed or wanted...

but at least we get to see floyd fight and not retire...plus who knows, by September hopefully either Cotto or Williams is king at 147 and maybe Floyd see's an opportunity to make major $$$$ with the winner...

i belive it is needed, oscar will go in with more knowledge about floyd and have a better shot. floyd just had a great showing againts hatton, he might trade more with de la hoya.
A major even like a rematch could be big if they put on good undercard

Has Floyd ever been knocked down? If so vs who?

Im asking because I have no idea if the weight would even matter if you cant land cleanly or even if he has a good chin because Ive never seen him get hit flush while standing in place or coming in.

He has a damn good chin for the most part.

Notable defensive lapses in his career:

vs. Carlos Hernandez - He broke his hand when he landed a punch and put his glove on the canvas. The only knockdown credited against Mayweather, and Hernandez didn't land a punch.

vs. DeMarcus Corley - He got ****ing rocked by an overhand right (I think) and backed into the ropes. He ended up recovering and winning the round though.

vs. Zab Judah - He lunged forward in round 2 and got caught on the way in, he stumbled back and his glove brushed the canvas. It should have been a knockdown but was not credited to Judah. He wasn't hurt at all.

vs. Zab Judah - In round 4, he almost got his ****ing head taken off by a straight left, but he recovered extremely quickly.

vs. Oscar De La Hoya - In the final seconds of round 12, he caught a flush left hook on the chin. He threw a punch back immediately after.

Skills, the main point is that Floyd and Oscar can make money elsewhere. Floyd would pull in a lot of money and MUCH more reputability against Cotto. But I'm starting to accept that he's just not that kind of fighter who cares about that sort of thing. I don't like it, but I accept it.
