It was a close fight, no doubt, but I felt Taylor more than enough to take the second fight.

To be honest... I though Taylor won both times.

I thought Hopkins could have won the first one easy, but he didn't start trying to win rounds until late. I thought Taylor swept the first 6 easy.

Taylor won the second one also in my opinion, mostly because he just outhustled/outworked Hopkins.

Lol, I just do my best to try to interpret events in boxing in a truthful manner.

The thing that bothers me the most about Taylor-Hopkins I is everyone saying Hopkins should have won because you have to beat the champion decisively in order to take the belt.

That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

Back in the day Hopkins would've kept his title because of the champion having the benefit of the doubt but today, Taylor was the new blood and Hopkins was the old man.

Hopkins let those fights slip out of his hands so I can't really blame Taylor or even the judges for getting the decisions.

I agree, you have to simpley have to knock him out or win more rounds. Jermain won more rounds. Trust me I wanted Hops to win both times, but he didnt.

After re-watching the fight and scoring it round-by-round, I had it 115-113 for Hopkins. I gave Hopkins round 1, which was very close, and I gave Taylor round 7, also very close, AND a round which every judge gave to Hopkins.

Fights like this are prime topics for discussion in NSB, so what do you guys think?
Terrible fight. We're all in agreement there. I had it 115-113 gave Taylor 1, not sure who I gave 7 to. Hopkins didn't throw any punches... right? I don't know I could've lived with a draw...

These two fights really might have been the worst fights ever in excitement to hype ratio...

These were supposed to be super-exciting, and a test whether the champion could still hang with "the best prospect ever".

God, both were a let down.

Taylor was the champ for this fight.

I agree for the first fight, EXCEPT the rounds Taylor won in the beginning he dominated. Then, Hopkins dominated the rounds at the end, even hurting Taylor. I don't know... I felt like if you looked at that first fight as a whole... you could make a strong case for Hopkins... but Taylor definitely won more rounds.
