Amir Khan has an even tougher assignment on his hands when he faces former world champion Gairy St Clair on Saturday 2nd February at the Excel London.
[details]
Hopefully St. Clair will give Khan some rounds, which seems to be the case since St. Clair hasn't been stopped. Should be a decent test for Khan as he seems to want to fight for a title by the end of the year.
division super featherweight
rating 33 / 819
nationality Australia
alias Superman
residence Sutherland, New South Wales, Australia
birth place Georgetown, Guyana
stance orthodox
height 5′ 4″
reach 65“
won 39 (KO 17) + lost 5 (KO 0) + drawn 2 = 46
less than 50% KO rate, but I guess this is still one of the bigger punchers Khan has faced. He is 5'4 though.
5 ft ****ing 4??!! khan is gonna tower over him and set him up with the jab all night long
i hope he has good head movement
That is short. I doubt Khan will get in there against someone with a high KO percentage until he fights for a title. I doubt Warren want to risk the cash cow that Khan is.
There is a very big size advantage but still this is a very solid test for Khan, St Clair gave Chico a pretty good fight and Chico is the same height as Khan. St Clair is a former super featherweight world champion so can't be taken lightly but I expect Khan to pass the test. If he can Knock St Clair out i'll be very impressed. I'm more excited about this fight than the Earl fight,
Well I am only Going on Box Rec Here.. but he has lost to Corrales,Vivian Harris, and Leonard Dorin..
As mentioned he is Tiny In comparriosn.. Khan Looks like he could be fighting at JR Welter at least and possibly Welter some day..
Of course this is just more trickery on team Khan's part.. A former champ.. yeah.. for 1 fight.. and at 2 weight classes below....
