o shut the hell up, Pavlik is way too powerful for Forest and would knock him out. He hits alot harder then Mayorga

Forest would be a threat for Pavlik. But whats up with all these match up with Pavlik he just won the title and facing Taylor again its not a sure win for Pavlik.

your damn right Pavlik's power would fade at the lower weights, he would be dead trying to make weight.

              Yeah.

That's a terrible style matchup and Forrest isn't exactly a defensive genius. lol.

He's an excellent offensive fighter but lacks the necessary mobility to escape those straight shots Pavlik throws. He can move, but he's not fast.

Even if Pavlik get KO'd by Taylor, I'd still pick him over Vernon Forrest anytime.

Oh yeah, I forgot... Pavlik got one victory over Taylor.

                  He now has:

A better jab than Larry Holmes.
A better left hook than Oscar De La Hoya.
A better right hand than Tommy Hearns.

What the **** was I thinking?

Oh yeah, Kelly Pavlik is good, but everyone is overrating him.

I'd be rooting for Forrest, but pavlik would win this fight.

Vernon may be a bit small, but can probably outjab Pavlik. Whether that is enough to get the job done is the reason I asked the original question.

I really hate to say that a fighter has no chance but this is one of those situations, its a mismatch. Vernon is clearly too small for a big 6'2 middleweight that never takes a step backward. Forrest would try to box and would probably have some moments in the first or second rounds, but the reach, height, weight, strength of Kelly Pavlik would eventally catch up with Forrest and will stop him. Pavlik finds the mark with his jab pretty easily because of his huge reach advantage, lands the right hand as Forrest gets frustrated and stands in front of him, backs up, tires out, and overwelmes an over matched Forrest and stopping in the 5th round.
