    Pavlik vs. Forrest at 160

    Who takes it?

Vernon may be a bit small, but can probably outjab Pavlik. Whether that is enough to get the job done is the reason I asked the original question.

If Pavlik could out jab Jermain Taylor, a smaller Forrest will be out of luck.

A prime Forrest could beat Pavlik me thinks, but Kelly is too young, too strong, and too heavy.

Vernon Forest is a welterweight who became champion and made his name by defeating a lightweight Shane Mosely. And was stopped by Ricardo Mayorga. He'd never have any business fighting Pavlik.

With Pavlik even being a bigger than normal MW he would be too big for Forrest and even though Vernon could use his boxing skills early on, Pavlik would eventually KO him.

I accidently picked Pavlik by decision, I meant destruction. Forrest could outbox Pavlik for a bit and give him trouble with speed and angles, but Pavlik would walk him down and put him to sleep. Nothing against Forrest, he is my favorite light middleweight, but Pavlik is almost too big for MW and carries legitimate power in both hands. He hurt Taylor with the right and separated him from his conciousness with the left. Pavlik by KO. Forrest can do very well where he is at.

Forrest is scared fartless of punchers that is why he was throwing himself to the canvass when he fought Mayorga. He would die of fright if he ever got in the ring with Pavlik.

Just adding, Forrest has been hurt bad by lesser punchers (not particularly light punchers, per se) in Ike Quartey, Ricardo Mayorga, and Carlos Baldomir. He often fouls or starts fighting dirty/wierd when he gets hurt. On three or so occasions in the Baldomir fight, he would get hurt, and then low blow to stop Carlos' momentum. In the Mayorga fight (2nd one) he was all over the place to avoid getting hit (throwing self to canvas and grabbing strangely and desperately on MANY occasions). Against Quartey he held lots and got beaten up bad, only to win a joke desicion. I like Vernon alot, I just figured it was fair to point out that he got hurt bad against smaller, lighter guys.

I would rather them both meet at a lower weight. Fighting at junior middle, i would go with Forrest. He has some power at that weight. And at a lower weight Kellys awesome power will fade.
