This can be the only excuse for boxing fans souring on the thought of a proposed April HBO doubleheader featuring Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito in separate bouts. The design of such a show is obviously to serve as a prelude to a Cotto-Margarito summer showdown, providing Margarito were to get past former linear welterweight champ Zab Judah and Cotto conquers Season One Contender fan favorite Alfonso Gomez.

Baldomir is 37 and didn't won a round in his fights against Mayweather and Forrest. Gomez is on a winning streak and is in his prime. But you are right, you are entitled to want to see anything you like. I didn't mean it the way you took it.

That's kind of where my mindset was but you need to consider something. Yes, Cotto really isn't giving himself any leverage to lure Floyd into a fight by fighting Gomez, but remember, the purpose of this fight is to ultimately build a fight with Margarito later this year which will generate a lot of money which will generate more of an interest for Floyd.

You know whats funny is Oscar and Floyd don't want to fight Cotto (or any other top WW) b/c they say they aren't worthy, they aren't big enough draws, not enough money. Well there is only two ways to get there and they are 1)Oscar 2)Floyd so if they won't fight them now don't ever expect them to fight (unless Cotto gets exposed by someone else Floyd might accept) b/c the only ways for these fighters to get recognized in the sports world is to fight one of the two guys that won't fight them. Mayweather got to the absolute top by getting a DLH fight and when he got the DLH fight he had done less in his career than Cotto has done in his!!!! Alls I am saying is if they aren't big enough draws now they never will be especially Cotto b/c he beat Judah (who has fought Mayweather) and Mosley (who has beat DLH twice)!!!! Oscar and Floyd have to man up not only for these fights but for the sport of boxing, they have the power to get the Cotto's, Williams and Margarito's of the world the shot and money they deserve!!!!
