Should Tyson get Credit for Beating Larry Holmes?

Yes he was out of prime but it wasn't like he was totally shot, Tyson was the first man to ever stop Larry Holmes.

Holmes went on to beat an undefeated Ray Mercer after that and gave a good account of himself in his fights with Holyfield and McCall considering he was out of his prime.

Not because he just beat him, but he stopped him when a Prime Holyfield couldn't and a fight with McCall that could have gone either way.

IMO he got robbed in both of his fights with Spinks

You're too much man. Hearns should get no credit for stopping a 33 year old Duran, but Tyson should get credit for stopping a 37 year old, fat, out of shape, Holmes.

Yes, b/c of the way Tyson beat him. It was a total destruction of a former world champion who was out of his prime but was no way 'shot'...

I like you as poster Parody but alot of your threads lately have seemed to be related to PBF somehow. Its kind of like your asking all these questions so that when someone criticizes Floyd, you can bring up all these threads and say, "But in this thread, you said this guy SHOULD get credit but when it comes to Floyd he shouldnt?" Just my observation.

I give credit to Tyson for stopping him, only man to do so, but still, Holmes was in his late 30s, and coming from two straight losses and a 2 year layoff. I wouldn't exactly call that prime.

When the **** did I say he shouldn't get any credit? Quote me on that please.

A poster said Duran was in his prime and I was laughing about that. The whole arguement was about how he thought Duran was even near his prime.

Read my first first I said he was out of his prime but prior to that he had two fights with Spinks that could have gone either way and had never been stopped nor was stopped after the Tyson fight by any other fighter.

Lol I dont think Floyd will stop Oscar if thats what your getting at. This thread about giving credit to Larry Holmes for having one hell of a chin and giving Tyson for being the only guy to stop him.
