Tougher Fight: Alfonso Gomez or Carlos Baldomir?

Gomez is a much tougher fight. Baldomir is slow with no power. Gomez has decent pop and speed and his resume is about equal to Baldomir's.

Baldomir is tougher, he was undefeated for 8 years, beat Clottey, Judah and Gatti and was the world welterweight champion. Baldo is much more proven than Gomez is at this point, Gomez has only beaten an even older Gatti and Peter Manfredo.

      Carlos Baldomir is underrated.

The Manchine put it perfectly. As besides, Baldomir was much more impressive in dispatching of shot Gatti than Gomez was.

Gomez may be the tougher fight NOW because Baldomir is now pretty old and kinda shot, but when Judah and Mayweather fought him, Baldomir was better.

I agree with your overall point but not that. There were times that Gatti was out boxing Boldimer and beating him to the punch when he would actually box instead of slugging. Gomez won every round, overwelmed, and gave Gatti a shalacking until knocking him out.

And i agree I think that Gomez was overrated after the Gatti win, just look at the Ben Tackie fight. Tackie was well past his prime and his best weight and Gomez had trouble with him. The fight was actually close in a way.
