Chavez is going to continue facing 2nd tier fighters for at least a year or 2. Arum is raking up money even while Chavez is facing no names so why change? Low risk High reward.

Exactly. It's not like JCC will be over the hill anytime soon. It's both good business and good training. Chavez will be a middleweight before he ever fights for a title. Of course if the kid loses to a stiff before then all the air goes out of the balloon.

Arum is going to continue to milk Chavez. At some point the guys team has to step up & ask for a real name. BTW if Celaya is Chavez's toughest opponent yet thats not saying alot.

how many more cab drivers do you want this guy to fight before he fights a contender?
and people ppv to see this guy. far out.
hahahaha, there's that cab driver quote again, damn that's not even original, what forum did you find that quote on? lol. it's obvious jccjr is'nt ready for a title yet, mabe because he's only 21 and had no ameture career. damn, is he suppose to go out and fight taylor already? he's being brought along slowly for good reason, HE'S ONLY BEEN BOXING/FIGHTING FOR 5 YEARS WITHOUT AN AMETURE CAREER! the ppv's are kinda messed up cause he's not that kinda star yet, but that's arums fault.

evidently the casual boxing fans are satisfied with their hype.
why do ignorant people talk without knowing ****. Celaya is a step up from chavez's "toughest match" so far in sanchez. Your just a mainstream fan it looks like. I'm tired of people like you putting chavez jr. down. if you dont like the opponents he's fighting then dont follow him plain and simple. Chavez will be a champ. cotto was brought up just as slow. too this day all cotto has faught is a washed up old mosley and still had his hands full with him. chavez is 21 and still learning. this is pretty much his amature career right now that your watching. he just turned pro to make the big bucks while doing it.

Back before he got his ass handed to him by Sr., Greg Haugen said something like "All Chavez has fought are Tijuana cab drivers."

It pissed a lot of people off, and then he got destroyed. 130,000+ showed up for the event though, so it was good build-up.

I dont agree with the ppv though. I purchased the fight vs sanchez but will not be purchasing again unless its a big fight. I enjoy watching him but i cant afford to buy a chavez ppv every other month. How long has cotto been a pro????? he still hasnt faught an elite opponent. mosley was elite in his prime but not at this point in his career. And chavez has his dads name but he is the one living up to it. he is doing what he is suppose to be doing and thats winning and winning big.
He is not where he is at just because of his dad's name. He has his genes, he has his techniques and it is chavez jr in the ring fighting knocking people out that makes people want to see more of him. it's not just the name is jr living up to the name and doing what he should be doing and thats win. Chavez is fighting the right people he is no fernando vargas to be fighting the best the world has to offer in 20 fights.....look what that did too him he is old, beat up, and washed up at age 29...its a shame great talent put to waste by bad managment.

I completely agree, with him being brought up slowly, he had no amature career so he needs alot of fights to learn the game. The thing i dont agree with is him being on PPV constantly as hes still an up and coming prospect, he should be a HBO B.A.D star right now like Arturo Gatti and MAB were when they were young
