Anyway you look at him, you'll find the similarities. With the exception of being orthodox, he has everything that made Camacho, well Camacho. Malignaggi has superb boxng skill, he's a true technician with good defense, handspeed, good ring movement, and a short number of knockouts, although Camacho was a much better puncher in comparison to Malignaggi. But beyond all that, the biggest similarity is their attitude, their mojo. Both are harsh talkers showing neverending overconfidence, which tends to work against them, since it gains them automatic detractors. That's when "fans" start to watch them hoping to see them get hurt. All in all, I think Malignaggi is great for boxing for all the reasons Camacho was. They are the type of boxer that add variety to the sport and bring along fans and even haters to follow boxing. Camacho is a proven all time great, whether fans want to admit it or not. Malignaggi still needs to prove himself, but he certainly has the tools to follow the road once paved by Camacho.
Malignaggi's is a new day Camacho
