Roy called out calzaghe beginnin of last year even saying he ll come over there and he ll even take 40 / 60 split with joe.. joe keeping 60....

i dont think chad dawson is really a name yet.. altho id like to see it.. and roy has said that he will fight glen before he retires, because if he beats him then he would of officially beaten every fighter hes ever faced... technically..

i understand roy is 39, i understand roy isny anything like the prime version of himself, i understand roy got knocked the **** out... twice... but from what i saw in his last fight.. even though it wasnt a top 5 fighter... he showed me hes still got somethin left... and i think at this weight he ll be lighter on his feet, and just by his confidence and the way hes been talkin u can tell he feels real good... now im not saying roys beatin everyones ass .... but im merely saying in response to you... i dont believe hes done
The thing with Roy willing to do a 60/40 split is a joke.
He is the man that used to **** potential fights up with his purse demands.
He isn't worth a 60/40 split coming off 3 losses of which 2 were KO's.
It may sound or look good on paper but the reason why Calzaghe & Bore Hard said no to Roy is because he is finished and they would get NO RESPECT by beating him especially after Glen Johnson.
You are in denial like all those Tyson fans who thought Mike was ever going to come back.
It aint gonna happen for Mike or Roy.
They both may have fights and win but they won't win against anyone of any real calibre.
Roy has beaten Prince Badi Ajamu who is so crap he drew with Anthony Bonsante and lost to Otis Grant.
He also beat Hanshaw a kid with a padded record who stepped up form SMW to entertain Roy.
I respect your opinion but I think you are kidding yourself.

Do you think Roy could beat Calzaghe or Hopkins....or even Chad Dawson?

i think he beats bernard, i think roys hands are too fast for bernard to move out of the way of at his age... joe is a hard fight.. i give roy a 40% chance... and dawson... i give roy a 45% chance

but that all depends on what i see at the garden

The last time I checked Tyson was in legal trouble for using coccaine. A broken husk of the former heavyweight champion, with sad, troubled eyes and an aging, broken body admitted he was horribly addicted to the drug. That he needed it; got his hands on it at any costs, whenever he could.

Sad end to the boxer known as Mike Tyson- but, to me at least, a definitive end. I mean, let's say- for the sake of arguement- Mike dropped the wonderful white powder...do we have any idea where he is at this age? He looked like a tired, ill-conditioned old man in his exhibition fight and got handled by a loser in McBride...he's shown his career his over.

Add now that we know coccaine has been allowed to take over...do we have any real idea how that might effect him neurologically? I mean, it's a drug that works on the receptorsights of your brain...do we know how it might have shattered his reflexes, vision, etc? I mean maybe he still functions as a regular man but isn't it possible he's career as an elite athelete was burned in the fire during his years of heavy drinking and coccaine use? Hmm?

I can't believe people actually want to see him come back. He's going to get hurt. Mike has some uncanny ability to make people want to see him fight the unbeatable; in this case that would be any return to the ring in which he's expected to be able to produce anything worthy of the name Tyson.

            Shame on this board.

No, you're right- years of admitted coccaine abuse has no prolongued, nuerological damage to a body. I'm not even suggesting it shows in any way other than where it counts- when pushing yourself to be an elite athlete.

The idea that because Tyson says he is clean, and is done serving time for his last offense, is now ready to fight again is ******.

People....I like Mike Tyson- we all have a place for him, root for him to make something with the years he has left but he's been the black sheep of the sport for years. Boxing had a great 2007....good media attention, etc. The LAST thing we need is for people to be drawn in to a Holyfield-Tyson farce in which an extremely washed up drug addicted fights an aged, past his prime boxer barely hanging on.

Then people see a sad, pathetic fight and go 'yeah, that's boxing..'. No. Tyson needs to do something else other than get back in the ring. He's done. So is Evander. Stop.
