anyone who has the proper motivation and is healthy can train to box 12 rounds.

Do you think boxing 12 rounds is harder than running a marathon sub 2 hrs 30..

shut the **** up, you think these professional boxers are super human?

Tyson was smoking dope, snorting coke and probably ran about 10 miles in all of his training before those last fights.

And to the wire who said that de la hoya tires at the end...

well if you are fighting 8 rounds, you will fight at a pace to suit 8 rounds so you get tired at the end, same for 12 rounds...

Fighters used to fight 15 rounds, do you think they are genetically different...

Tyson used to fight at a pace of a much younger man at the end of his career and he was pretty much done after the first four rounds and in his last three or four fights, the first round.

If Mike comes back he should try to save his energy like Foreman did and look for opportunities to land those big punches, not just wildly swing for the fences.

He isn't going to compete at world level, no way, not at this point but he could fight Mercer, Bowe and Moorer or even Holyfield, Golota and McCall.

Tyson could have rematches with Williams and McBride too.

It would be a good way to make some money and have a better ending to his career. Maybe it could help with his depression as well and get him into better shape.

Yeah but numbnuts you are ignoring the FACT that Tyson was ****ed when he "fought" wiliiams & Mcbride.
If he couldn't do it in his late 30's he isn't going to do it in his 40's.
And Someone can train for 12 rounds but that doesn't mean they can last 12 rounds when they are in a ring with someone landing punches on them.
Sure I could go down the gym today and spar 12x3 minute rounds no problem bu the intensity changes in a proper fight.
Truth is you dug yourself a hole with your nonsense.

i just read that too and im feeling the buzz and hype that is surrounding this news. Personally i would pay to see tyson fight again without a doubt even though he looked nothing like the old tyson against mcbride. Its just the tyson factor (i grew up, staying up untill 5 in the morning to watch him fight) i love the man.

Against hollyfield, i think it would deffinatly be a money earner even if both these dudes are way past their sell by dates. The hype around this fight would be ****ing incredible, all they have to do is mention the ear biting in the last fight and the world will go crazy for this fight. Tyson vs hollyfield, my heart says tyson would win by KO if he trains hard but my brain says hollyfield due to hollyfield atually having fought several times in the last couple years.

          BUT BRING IT ON!!

If they fight it will be 10 rounds not 12. Not that Tyson can fight past 4

It would be good for the sport. Regardless.

**********.com: My phone's been ringing with a couple of people asking me about you possibly fighting Evander Holyfield later this year. I didn't believe when I heard it, but now that I'm privileged enough to have you on the horn, can you tell us if that's something you're interested in?

Mike Tyson: "Sometimes I say yeah it is and sometimes I say it isn't. I'm in one of those up in the air moments. It's something I want to do it all depends on how many tickets (or millions*) are involved."

**********.com: Would you really entertain Holyfield Mike?

Mike Tyson: "It depends on the ticket."

**********.com: For those unaware of the vernacular of the ticket, a ticket is $1M. So it just comes down to the dollars and cents.

                Mike Tyson: "Exactly."

**********.com: Anytime you put the names Tyson and Holyfield on a banner it's going to be a huge event, but based on Holyfield's last fight and your absence, don't you think a preliminary round that would feature you and Evander on the same card in winnable fights would make the fight bigger?

Mike Tyson: "Probably so, but I wouldn't want to do that, I want to go straight at him."

**********.com: Will you be able to deal with his rough house tactics? You know he's not going to change the way he fights.

Mike Tyson: "That's ok. I might change the way I fight."

**********.com: Is Holyfield the kind of guy that can get you up for a fight?

Mike Tyson: "He's the guy for me to fight and I could always get up to fight him. He's the kind of fight that could make me have an affair with boxing again. I don't know if I can fall back in love with boxing, but I'm ready to have a love affair for a few months."

**********.com: Do you knock Holyfield out in the third fight?

Mike Tyson: "That would be my goal. If I get in there with him I'd just be looking to knock him out."

**********.com: What kind of shape are you in now?

                Mike Tyson: "Oh horrible."

**********.com: How long would it take for you to get in shape?

Mike Tyson: "Like I said, three months."
