I can't see Taylor or Pavlik winning a title at SMW?

It is more absurd than anything on here that people think Pavlik can walk over everyone at 168. Absolutely ****ing absurd.

    It is more absurd than:
    The hype for Antonio Margarito
Saying Mayweather is the best welterweight ever
Oscar De La Hoya calling out Manny Pacquiao

Pavlik is a good fighter. His power will diminish some when he goes to 168, because fighters up there can take a better punch than the ones at 160. He has some skills, but so does Kessler. I can't really speak for much else in the divison, but I can tell you that Kessler would give Pavlik his toughest challenge of his life if Pavlik can indeed beat him.

If anyone honestly thinks Pavlik would'nt put Kessler in the hospital, I don't know what to tell you. Do you see the way Kessler fights in straight lines?

I like Kessler but his style vs Pavlik?... No way. He'd be eaten alive. Does anyone think he could survive those straight rights? Cmon. Taylor had the right idea IMO.

Pavlik also hits a lot harder than Kessler.

I could see a very early knockout in the fight.
Just like Trinidad mopped the floor with Winky Wright, right? Didn't he stand in front of him? Guess what, power decreases when a fighter moves up. Believe it.

I just can't see Kessler surviving Pavlik with that upright Eusropian style, As good as kessler is.

Hardly any head movement, Moving and fighting in straight lines. I really see Pavlik landing clean, brutal right hands on Kessler.

I understand your point but it's never a perfect analogy. Pavlik and Kessler are'nt Trinidad and Winky.

Hey, you remember how hard of a puncher Ricardo Mayorga was at 147? Well when he moved up to 160 and fought Felix Trinidad... he landed shots directly on Trinidad's chin, and guess who wasn't hurt... at all? That would be Felix Trinidad.

Because, still, you haven't even attempted to explain why power does not diminish when a fighter moves up. You convince me of that, then you have probably swayed my belief that Kessler can win, but you have a lot of history to refute to make this argument.

Pavlik is moving up like Trinidad did.

The point is... Kessler and Pavlik can box pretty effectively. I can see a decision going both ways.

Kessler's power will remain at 168, and Pavlik's will diminish a bit.

Pavlik is not going to KO Kessler like he did Miranda or Taylor. It is going to be a HELL of a lot harder to KO someone at 168 for Kessler.

I can see Pavlik being more successful at 168 than Taylor because of his power. He'd have a hard time getting past some of them though.

Yes but you have to look at fighters on a case by case basis. Pavlik is 6'3" and hit BRUTALLY hard at 160. Another 8 pounds on his frame probably would'nt make much difference, if any.

Anyway, with the kind of power he has, it would'nt matter even if he did lose a little bit of it.

All this is besides the point though because in Pavlik's case I think he'll be just as strong, if not stronger at SMW.

The rematch with Taylor is basically a SMW fight so I think you'll have a chance see what I mean, fairly soon.
