Why Do People Think Vitali is GREAT??

ok 35 wins 34 kos, thats great. But vs who?

    Lets see
    Danny Williams
    Vaughn Bean
    Corrie Sanders
    Kirk Johnson
    Ross Purity
    Orlin Norris

Now wtf kind of resume is this to be considered great? Those names are all heavyweight bums and those are the bigger wins on his resume. He couldnt beat a past prime, fat lennox Lewis.

Now someone enlighten me and tell me how people would think he would give the all time great trouble or even beat them?

Ali, Norton, Foreman, Liston, Frazier, Tyson all ko him before 6 rounds.

Because he went 4 of 6 rounds against an undertrained, inactive for a year, heavy Lennox Lewis!

Lewis was awesome even when he was out of shape. I mean he never lost a fight even when out of shape, right?

You do make a very good point. He was a good fighter but not great. He does have a high KO percentage but against journeyman( just my opinon) He career was derailed by injuries. So I cant call him great but he is no bum either.

They think he's great because he beat up on Danny Williams, and was beating a fading Lennox Lewis before he was legitamately stopped with a ****ed up eye

Vitali underacheived because of his injuries, his injury troubles are from his years in kickboxing and his transition from kickboxing to boxing.

Vitali Klitschko was a monster and is capable of giving every great HW in history hell. He destroyed everyone he faced and he embarrased Lennox Lewis with 1 ****ing eye, Lewis retired like a coward and turned down a mega payday because he knew he would get KO'd by Vitali in the rematch. (35 wins,34 KO's 97 KO%) he has an iron chin, he has never been down.

I am hoping Vitali can make a comeback and dominate again, it would be great to see the Klitschko's accomplish their goal of being World Heavyweight Champions at the same time.

He wasn't great. But good for sure. In some of his fights he never came close to losing a single round. His KO percentage is one of the highest if not the highest in HW history. He was beating an out of shape LL but LL none the less. The average person dont care if LL was out of shape or not, LL is a name and THE name to beat. After Lennox's retirement he was viewed to take over as the next dominate HW and I think that's why folks over rate him. He beat up alot of B and C rated fighters but those B and C rated fighters would blow any of us out of the water in 1 or 2 rounds.

Bottom line. VK was good, not great, but could have been dominate but I think Thread Stealer says it best "Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda"

                  Hmmm..history proves you wrong.

                  Did Brittley destroy Chris Byrd?

No, let's time I checked, Byrd won via TKO after 9.

                  Did Vitali destroy Lummox?

Let's look at the last two times of Lummox's career when he showed up out of shape.

Of course, brittley had the chance to prove himself once he won the ring/wbc belt against golf sanders. so what does he do? he fights a journeyman, and gets forced to fight his mandatory after the wbc said "nyet" to fighting brock. and then he cancels 4 straight times...lol.

But he could have/would have/should have done this and done that, so that makes him great even though his best win was over a part-time fighter who was a hasim rahman leftover, right?
