I partially blame Cus for Tyson being so messed up.

It's been well-documented how many times Tyson would get into trouble and Cus let it slide due to Mike's talent. Basically saying, "oh, you can do all that stuff, just perform in the ring".

Atlas: You can't grope my niece, how do you like this loaded .38 in your eye?

Cus (when he finds out): Teddy, you're fired. Mike, go to Tryon for a week and come back and we'll do some more drills.

Or how about the way Cus helped Mike with his insecurities.

Mike: I'm just not a good looking guy.

Cus: Here's a baseball bat, you can beat the women away when you're the champion of the world.

Gee, who would have thought that Mike would have problems with mistreating women later in life?

Good points, but even to this day he hasn't been able to keep his life stable. It would be hard for most to handle that type of fame and money at a young age, but Mike had his chances to redeem himself, but he never could. Like I said I still like the guy and he still probably is my favorite fighter of all time, but he could have been great without a doubt, but he chose another path.

Peter Manfredo would probably KO Roy if he hit him flush in the face.

Mike Tyson was awesome, he's definitely a top 3 guy, I haven't seen all the greats' fights so I can't comment on him being the best. Mike was a complete fighter: Speed, power, defense and ring smarts. I've always found people who say he was a poor technical fighter to be bad observers, Mike did fight very impulsively after he returned from jail, but only because he felt his power would suffice (ie going for the KO). I think he would have slaughtered every man that beat him, including a prime Holyfield had he been more mentally stable.

A lot of his aggression was pure acting as well, that's how he was able to make hose millions in the first place
