It is very hard for someone to jump from 105 - 126 infactComment

Infact, let me revise that. I think every second divison after featherweight should be eliminated as well. I did think about this carefully, and even if this were to happen, fighters would still be basically the same height anyway, and they wouldn't be jumping from divison to division as easily when they aren't doing so well in one division.I say all the weight divisons under 126 should be dumped. and believe it or not, there are 6 divisions under 126. I think that is ridiculous. if you are 105, gain weight and fight in the 126 limit. there would be more talent and the 126 division would improve immensly.
I say scrap super middleweight. talent is too divided as it is.
I think there is a great need for a super heavyweight division cuz a 6'6 guy against a 6'0 guy is just ******. I can't say that I am with the dividing of the cruiserweight division cuz that would divide that talent in half and that would be terrible. I think someone who is 176 could easily gain weight and be 200. even in the light heavyweight weight division everyone is basically the same height as the cruiserweight guys.
these are the divisons with the potential top fighters in each in no real order:
126 Featherweight
Chris John
Israel Vasquez
Rafael Marquez
Ivan Calderon
135 Lightweight
Juan Diaz
Manny Pacquao
Ricky Hatton
Juan Manual Marquez
Joan Guzman
Paulie Malinaggi
David Diaz
Michael Katsidis
145 Welterweight
Floyd Mayweather
Miguel Cotto
Paul Williams
Shane Mosley
Antonio Margarito
Junior Witter
160 Middleweight
Kelly Pavlik
Winky Wright
Oscar De La Hoya
Vernon Forrest
Jermaine Taylor
Cory Spinks
175 Light heavyweights
Bernard Hopkins
Joe Calzaghe
Antonio Tarver
Chad Dawson
Glen Johnson
Mikkel Kessler
200 Cruiserweight
Same as now
235 Heavyweight
Ruslan Chagaev
Sultan Ibragimov
Alexander Povetkin
Eddie Chambers
Unlimited Super Heavyweight
Wladimir Klitchsko
Samuel Peter<--he would probably lose 15 pounds and fight as a hw
Nickolay Valuev
Oleg Maskaev<----he would also prob fight as a hw
every division would be stacked the way welterweight is now. saturday night pay-per-views would improve cuz there would be more great fights to watch. I think creating weight classes is detrimental to boxing with the exception of heavyweight cuz that weight class is just way to vast and needs to be divided.Last edited by -Swizzy-; 01-11-2008, 07:21 PM.Comment

yes I know it would take alot for a guy at 105 to gain the weight plus he wouldn't have the reach or height to cut it in the featherweight division but really, under featherweight, nobody really cares about those divisions. I mean, how much money are those guys making? most of them are probably still poor. So what is the point of having those divisions?Comment

There is some good fighters in the little divisions , You get some good wars and they tend to have better stamina, Fair play though each to are ownComment

yeah I guess. maybe featherweight at 125 and a flyweight at 116 should be created. I still think making a division for every 3 pounds is insane. It would be for the benefit for those fighters cuz they would have bigger fights for more money if there were less divisions below featherweight. I know the lower you go in weight, the percentage increases for every pound difference like 124 to 123 is bigger than 250-249 but I still can't buy that. My nephew who is 40 pounds has no problem taking down 50 pound kids. Less weight divisions is better for the sport of boxing.Last edited by -Swizzy-; 01-07-2008, 03:37 PM.Comment
