Paulie is smart, and like you say, I see Paulie would just run the whole fight in a safe decision.
I agree Paulie would prob win off the back foot all night, smart fighters should be able to adjust to that and even set traps on the person setting traps. Still Paulie isnt as slick as some make him out to be, he still gets hit quite a bit.

People forget that Ivan Robinson was also relatively feather-fisted. And he was able to slug it out with Gatti.

Hell, Paulie was respectable in slugging with Cotto.

Since you're a Miguel Cotto fan I'm assuming you have seen Cotto vs Malignaggi?? Malignaggi showed amazing heart in that fight and he proved he is a true warrior.

Malignaggi by close Decision. I think Tessitore said that Gatti could box with the best out there.

Paulie also has quite a set of whiskers on him.

Prime Gatti was at 130, where he had about a dozen first round knockouts. At that weight, he gives Paulie a good fight, possibly stops him because of the weight drain factor. At 140, Paulie outworks him and makes him miss to an easy decision.

A prime Gatti at 140 had pretty decent speed and very good power, Paulie gets hit alot, and could get hurt.
