I scored this a draw, with Ngoudjo getting slightly the better of the first half of the fight, Malignaggi just barely doing enough to tilt it back to even terms in the later rounds. I wasn't massively impressed by either guy on the night.
If forced to choose a winner, I'd give it to Herman by dint of that dominant 7th.

On that showing, Malignaggi would need to hope that Ricky will be carrying some extreme mental damage back from Undefeated if they fight.
That said, I think the Paulie Malignaggi who would come in to fight Ricky Hatton would be the best Paulie Malignaggi possible.

Either way, I have a lot of admiration for Paulie and find the pockets of hate that exist for him bewildering..it's as if some are struggling to see past that high-pitched rat-a-tat-tat fight-hype style.
The guy goes into every fight knowing it will go the distance, takes a lot of guts to fight that way, on skill, no big weapons. His views on the sport are consistently interesting and elucidative. And he is a genuinely nice guy. What's to dislike, really?

Should Paulie and Hatton meet, I'll feel compelled to pull for The Magic Man.
And there is still no reason why they shouldn't meet, even after the less than stellar showing Saturday night.
Hatton has taken fights with Maussa (on the strength of knocking out Harris) and Urango (on the strength of 15 fights unbeaten) in the last 2+ years, so why not Paulie on the strength of his 3 performances before the Ngoudjo fight?

Word up I definitely agree, besides the clinching that paulie and hatton would do, I think this is an important fight for both if they take it. There both in there prime-esk years. Both want to prove or continue proving there the best at 140. I just Hope Witter gets a piece of the action too, maybe he fights the winner.

But I totally agree, Paulie is a nice guy, who knows his boxing, and admits his faults and what he has to work on. I think people just base him off his looks. which sucks cause he has great boxing ability.

the judges were rubbish I think it could of gone either way but their scoring was way out I thought there was only one or two points in it.

most o0f the fight was really quite lame I really would like to know why so many people rate paulie "the feather fisted fairy" malignaggi so highly.

Malignaggi clearly lost rounds 11 and 12. I really don't see the draw or the close fight. I know that Ngoudjo didn't dominate but I don't see how he was not the obvious winner of 8 rounds.

even though it was only two round diffrence, he clearly won thoose rounds. Malingalgi is one of my favorite fighters, but he did a half as job and Herman should've won.

IMO malignaggi lost to ngoudjo clearly......
if you get into the fight by the dumb ass scoring system,
it was a close fight but to the naked eye i thought ngoudjo won the fight

In the sense that I'd give it to Ngoudjo if I had to choose a worthier winner, I'm semi with you (though, when I think about how he took his foot off after that dominant 7th, I could reconsider).
I truthfully can't say that I saw 8 rounds in Herman's favor, though.

To me, it was a draw. I'll find my own scrawled card and put it up here tomorrow, maybe give the fight another watch first.

It's all cool, though, man, the opinions are what it's about.

More than his hype style and ****-talk, I think you're on the money there.

You know some people are hurtin' when a fighter is disliked for reasons not based on his skillset, or even his personality, but on his plucked eyebrows.

                  Damn.
