Hatton won perhaps 4 rounds in the fight, maybe 5 if you were being generous. I thought the scores were close at the time of the stoppage but I had Floyd up by two points, 1 because of the deduction for the cheap shots.
It's easy to point to Cortez as being the reason why Hatton lost the fight.......but it's dumb. Because Hatton was getting countered with nasty shots and was taking too much of a beating close to the end. Had that streak continued before the Left hook/ringpost/head hits mat thing Hatton would have eventually been stopped. You can put the two in the ring and Floyd will win 10/10 times. He's just on another level than Hatton is. End of story.
It took Floyd some getting used to his pressure and fight style.........but instantly found home in landing punches in the pocket. He also put on a good show standing and trading with Hatton, something people forget.
Also it's good to see people crying about Mayweather holding.
Especially when Hatton was the one repeatedly throwing rabbit punches.
Well Hatton won't have to worry about Malignaggi's power so maybe he can feel a bit more confident fighting him. Really Malignaggi suits Hatton's style, and yes Malignaggi is a slick boxer, but not good as Mayweather. And we don't know how he will deal with Hatton's pressure. The only way I see Malignaggi winning is by points.
do you reckon if say Hatton's head was on the floor and Malignaggi took a ten foot run up and Hoofed Ricky in the face it would have as much impact as that?
I don't know about that but maybe if he gets some steroids he can bulk up a bit. I wonder where he could get them from?
