Dont Judge A book by its cover especially in boxing

If you are thinking about being a boxer and you think just because someone doesnt look tuff or looks like a geek dont think your gonna kick your ass because they will could be the toughest guy in the gym i have seen it a lot now, just my word of advice lol.

i had to make this thread because people say tall skinny/lanky people look like nerds, and they dont think they can fight, im like that so whenever i spar i usually make people look bad because i have a real good jab, and move real good, but after people see me beating up very experianced amateurs and beating on some decent pros. People dont udnerstand how affective lanky people are in boxing until they are in with me and then they say wow i didnt expect you to be so good i thought you were weak or a nerd and coudnt fight lol. I get that all the time. Hell i started wearing glasses to now to fight weigh ins just to look the nerd part even more, it works it throws people off a lot because they think they are gonna kill you before the fight and have nothing to worry about lol.

aren't you an am? A weigh in? The weigh in's are just before the fight or well before it most of the time and in the am's you don't really train for a specific fight you train just consisitantly (you should) weigh in don't mean **** to me I just go out everytime looking to win and try my best I don't care how tall or short people look train consistant and then you can never say you weren't good enough.

Another thing never underestimat anyone because then you will be in trouble and too late to relize that.

The weigh ins at the amateurs all the coaches are checking you out to match you up with their guy so they can get the easy win. So if you look weaker its better because they will want to have their guy fight you. As i have learned from experiance.

yea I kno but my coach doesn't care about the weigh in much he watches the fighter spar then picks. In the ams the weigh in isnt really important is all Im saying. Overall your right though Tommy Hearns was a lanky guy didn't look like he had alot of power but when he let that right hand go you went down unless your name is Marvelous.

I think you can generally judge a book by its cover, and that goes for actual books too. If you are going to wait 4 years to get your book from pitch to publication and have a boring, ****ty cover, then it probably contains a boring, ****ty book.

It is the same with people most tough looking people are tough. Just as books with good covers are good.
