If everybody's resume at WW is weak, who's resume is good? Kelly Pavlik's resume isn't any better than Cotto's in his respective weight division. If you'd look at Calzaghe's resume you'd see he hasn't fought any better p4p fighters than most of the beltholders at WW, so basically you're reasoning would imply there aren't any good fighters in boxing today, which is total BS.
Who has better resume at welterweight??

YOU ASKED AND ANSWERED EVERYTHING AT THE SAME TIME, I WAS'NT SPEAKING ON BEHALF OF ANY ONE FIGHTER, OR AGAINST MAYWEATHER, JUST STATING FACTSYou see, having a belt and championship is an accomplishment and the goal of every fighter in the sport. It brings status, respect, fame, and money. No, having a belt doesn't mean you're a great fighter, nor does being beltless mean you suck, but it is a good indicator especially if you never earn one. If Zab was over the hill for Money May, then what the F*** was he for Cotto??? Let look at connect percentage. Judah landed on 18% on Mayweather. Judah put Cotto on ***** street twice. Knock Baldomir all you want but he was on a 9yr winning streak and got an iron chin. Let's keep the topic to welterweight fights. Nobody has a stellar resume at welter.Comment

No, I don't think Cotto was better for Mayweather than Cotto. I believe judah was in great shape for both fights but he had a more downward spiral for Cotto w/ 2 losses, suspension, and nc.I agree with crazylegs u seem a bit biased, Judah claimed he was in top shape prior and after the Cotto fight, yet you make the Judah that fought Mayweather out to be more impressive. That Judah came off an embarassing loss to Baldomir when he fought MM, Judah only retained that title because Baldomir refused to pay the sanctioning fee.
Cotto has the best resume at WW imo. He beat Quintana who was supposed to go through him, Cotto being the smaller man. People forget that Quintana was an established fighter holding a recent win of Joel Julio, one of the most dangerous punchers still at WW/LMW. Mayweather's great but Baldomir is nowhere near the level of contender, I don't discredit his win over Judah but Judah arguably gave him his hardest fight to date (next to Castillo I). Urkal was Cotto's manditory, I don't see any shame in fighting a manditory no matter how bad they are
Quintana is a good not great win. I also thought Quintana would win based on being a southpaw who could ****. Look, I not a cotto hatter. Cotto is smaller??.. doesn't he weight like 160 come fight night??
Joel Julio had alot of hype behind him and I like him but when has he ever been praised as one of the most dangerous punchers????
Urkal is no shame but is not a great win. BUT, imagine if Mayweather would have fought his mandatory in Mark Suarez?
How can you discredit Baldomir? Did you see his fight with Forrest?? He has more speed and skill than people give him credit for and has a hell of a chin.
Beerner, you finally got it. You can't really praise anybody's resume at WW is all I'm saying. There all about the same.
Your Calzaghe and Pavlik analogies don't really hold. While Calzaghe hasn't beaten HOF fighters, he did own his division like Bernard use to own middleweight. Pavlik just beat the man who beat the man. He beat Miranda who was wrecking ****. Both by vicious ko.Comment

We've been trained to hold guys in high regard just because they have "Ring Champion" next to their name. But honestly, would Baldomir beat anyone in the top 10?I'm confused at how people say Floyd has not fought anybody at welterweight. Out of the current champions of the division who has a better resume? I'll start with
Kermit Cintron.
1.) won the vacant IBF title in an eliminator over the accomplished Mark Suarez
2.)Knocked out Walter Mattheyse in 2. Very impressive win but Walter never held a title or had big win.
3.) Looked very lackluster against Feliciano who was a B+ fighter
Paul Williams
1.) Big win of Antonio Margarito but Margarito has never beaten an 'A' fighter.
2.)TKO and KO against Pakau and Sharba Mitchell. Pakau never held a title and Sharmba best days are long gone.
Cotto
1.)Very impressive decision over Shane Moseley who had the WBC interim title.
2.) TKO over Zab Judah. No excuses, but Zab just came from 1yr suspension 1 round NC over Galvan
3.) TKO and KO over Oktay Urkal and Carlos Quintana. Neither of these fighters were ever champions in the division
Floyd Mayweather
1.) KO over junion welter Hatton. Impressive win. Hatton was the man at 140. People forget that floyd started his career at 130 and Hatton has been at 140 his whole career
2.) UD over Baldomir. A Career welterweight who just beat the undisputed welterweight champion. Blame it on Judah being unprepared all you want, fact is, Baldomir beat the man so he was the man.
3.) UD over Judah. Former undisputed ww champion.
Fact is, neither of these champions have numerous wins over fighters who are both natural welters and champions/great fighters. The only fighter that Paul fought who was a natural welter and champion was Margarito. Floyd only has a win against champ and natural welter Baldomir. Cotto and Cintron haven't beat a natural welter who was also a champ. So, it's double standard against Floyd. As far as size goes, Paul has fought the biggest natural welter out there and beat him. So, if floyds resume is weak at ww the others are just as weak.Comment

Yeah...I think you guys are missing the point. EVERYBODY"S resume at 147 is weak!
Crazylegs77, you're an idiot. Imagine if Floyd fought a guy coming off 2 losses, 1 year suspension, and 1rd no contest. Imagine how the media and fans would rip him....well that's what Cotto did..and guess what?..it was still a step up in competion!! lol.
Floyd at this point is obviously much more accomplished than Cotto was at that time.
And it wasnt a step up, Malignaggi is better. Quintana might be too.Comment

I think he could beat couple of guy. and fight competivitly with other like Cotto.
He is pretty experinced fighter lot of patience, I mean this guy fought for 10 year or so to get his chance for a title shot against an undisput champion I dont think he is going to lose for nothing at this point e****ally if he gave Forrest a good figth.
and as for his power he doesnt put his body into the punch like Margarito and if he did he could KO some guysComment
