Duran is a good candidate. Everyone is forgetting de la Hoya.

really? according to boxrec he weighed 193. I know boxrec has some false info sometimes but where do you get your fight info might I ask.

It was showed during the "Boxing Tale of Roy vs Ruiz" that he was weighed incorrectly and he was actually 201 pounds.

                Very nice!

I didn't know he started that low. I assumed he started as a lightweight.

The only reason I didn't include heavyweights is because it is impossible to accurately compare the Duran accomplishment to something like Jones beating Ruiz...

What is the exact weight division for heavyweights?

There is no definitive answer, so I left it out of the thread.

Not a Jones hater by any means.

Bob Fitzsimmons was a middleweight champ who won the heavyweight title but that was way back. The HW's were mostly 170 lbs.

What about Pacquiao? He was a flyweight champ, in the future he could be a lightweight or even a light welterweight champion.

DLH from SFW to MW. Duran was very light early on but won titles at LW, WW, LMW and MW. Jimmy Ellis started as a skinny MW and won the HW title during the 60's.

Not that it has much to do with this thread but Dwight Qawi was 5'6 and fought as a light heavyweight, cruiserweight and a heavyweight. Won titles at LHW and CW.

                      ?

Toney made his pro debut at 165 and Won cruiser (175-190) from jirov at
                      190 so its a 25 lb jump.
Tommy hearns started at 147 and won cruiser (IBO) under 190 at 189 so thats 33 lbs

RJJ started at 157 and won Hw (190+) at 189 thats 32

maybe a better question? the biggest increase in weight during a fighters career from lightest to heaviest at ANY bout..

Maybe butterbean Eric Esch Fought at a svelt 300lbs and then tubbed up to a max of 417 1/2! a 117 1/2 lb gain!

He was a one man tag team!
