Why doesn't HBO FORCE floyd to face Cotto?

bottom line is this, Cotto has fought 2 big names, one was over the hill (mosely) and one has lost all of his championship fights (Judah). If Cotto wins his next fight, which will be tough no matter who he fights (DLH, P.Williams, Cintron, Clottey) then there will be a huge financial incentive for FLoyd to fight him. The money is there now, but another big win for Cotto this year will set it up better. Marketing, baby. I want to see the Floyd-Cotto fight, COtto's just gotta keep winning.

He hasn't been nearly as aggressive at this weight than he was in lighter divisions.
If Mayweather, at 30 years old, is going to be a serious part of any division, it will be at 140. At 147, he's too small to deal with natural welterweights.

Cotto vs. Floyd is the fight that will set the new era blazing, then the chain reaction will bring us fights with Williams, Margarito, Cintron and Clottey.
**** Floyd, why should boxing wait two years for that mouse? This welterweight division is ready to explode like the 80's which could attract and build huge excitement for the sport overall. 80's welterweights carried boxing in the 80s, so can this crop of welterweight fighters.
FLOYDCOTT floyd!
HBO cannot force Floyd to do anything. Mayweather and De La Hoya are in that elite class where they determine who they want to fight. HBO did not force Oscar to fight Mayweather. Fortunately, Mayweather only fights the best and he will fight Cotto sometime in 2008 and knock him out and then you and the other haters on this site will be complaining that he is dodging Cintron and Williams just like you were complaining that he was dodging Hatton before. I guess ****** *******s like you expected him to fight Cotto in January after beating Hatton in December.
Cotto brings nothing to the table. He squeaked by against old Shane Mosley in what I thought was a draw. And despite the publicity, the fight didn't sell out. He beat Judah after Judah was off for a year and the only reason that fight sold out was because Judah was from New York. Neither one of them could be considered top welterweights. So in essence Cotto has fought B class fights himself and now you think Mayweather is dodging him. Mayweather will ko Cotto in less than 10 rounds when they do fight.

I don't think Mayweather would stop Cotto but I do think he would win handily. Cotto isn't fleet footed enough to catch Mayweather and I don't think he'd manage to land very much.
