mayweather isnt afraid of cotto he's beaten fighters who are better than cotto..last time i checked he tko the guy in ya avi r.i.p. so stop hating..floyd doesnt owe cotto ****..miguel hasnt accomplished half the **** floyd has so dont get your panties in a bunch..cotto ducked mayweather the past 2 years and now he wants to fight cuz he knows he'll get that big money and u cant say that isnt the reason becuz cotto can fight other boxers if he wants too..cotto should fight williams and or cintron as a matter of fact and build up his resume and unify the belts while floyd is on vacation..they're gonna end up fighting eventually as long as cotto keeps winning so stop bitching

floyd is very smart when it come to business..
Once Cotto beats a few big names like who...Judah and Mosley? One guy which Cotto beat more conviningly, and another Floyd never fought?

Cotto has nothing left to prove, and only person left to fight is Floyd, and he knows that. I'm not complaining, the guy just fought, but the fight is ready to be made. None of that "fight a few more big names" ****. Anyone else Cotto fights now would be a step down.

if people are going to look down on floyd for not fighting cotto, they were going to do it regardless, only if you have been a fan of boxing for the last 1 year would you say that he should be looked down upon with all the names on that resume. while hes not the greatest ever like he says, his accomplishments are enough for him to leave the sport if he wanted to.

I think some of you need to calm down, Floyd isn't ducking Cotto, what did you guys expect Floyd to do? Sign the contract right there in the ring right after the Hatton fight?, It hasn't even been a month yet since he has fought and he wants to take a well deserved vacation. I am positive the fight will happen as long as Cotto doesn't lose his next fight, be it Margarito or De La Hoya.

I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH THAT, WITH HIS RESUME HE'LL BE REMEMBERED AS A REALLY GOOD FIGHTER AND POSSIBLE ALL TIME GREAT THAT LEFT TOO EARLY DUE TO THE FACT HE'S ONLY 30. "LIKE I SAID THAT'S MY OPINION" YOU DON'T HAVE TO LIKE IT OR AGREE WITH IT. AND I'VE BEEN A BOXER AND FIGHT FAN SINCE THE EARLY 80'S, SO THAT 1 YEAR THAING YOU SAID DON'T APPLY TO ME

They forced Oscar to fight Floyd to maximize FLoyd's marquee value, why don't they force Floyd to face Cotto and start looking to build younger fighters up instead of retreading Oscar for a lucrative rematch with FLoyd which no one wants to see anyway.

Cotto vs. Floyd is the fight that will set the new era blazing, then the chain reaction will bring us fights with Williams, Margarito, Cintron and Clottey.

**** Floyd, why should boxing wait two years for that mouse? This welterweight division is ready to explode like the 80's which could attract and build huge excitement for the sport overall. 80's welterweights carried boxing in the 80s, so can this crop of welterweight fighters.

                  FLOYDCOTT floyd!
you have a point......i hope floyd fights cotto this year

Can Cotto beat Mayweather? Yes. He's much bigger, much stronger than Mayweather and it's going to be very uncomfortable for Mayweather to live with Cotto's rushes. Mayweather isn't a welterweight, he was built for 140. He hasn't been nearly as aggressive at this weight than he was in lighter divisions.

If Mayweather, at 30 years old, is going to be a serious part of any division, it will be at 140. At 147, he's too small to deal with natural welterweights.
