They had no chemistry at all.
I still think Steward would've been better for Jermain.
You'll see what I mean on fight night, Jermain will come out with looping shots again.
Steward tried to focus on Jermain's straight punching, as he does with most of his boxers.
Jermain is a real stiff guy, you won't see a change in him, trust me.
For the sake of my points and money I hope you're wrong.
After watching this fight several times, it is clear to me that the rematch will come down to ADJUSTMENTS!!! Honestly either fighter can win, both fighters were affected by each other's shots (pavlik 2nd rd, taylor as early as 3rd rd), so whoever can absorb the most punishment is going to win!
I for one was never sold on Taylor, i saw a humble big-country kid with some potential (that obviously wasn't fully reached), but nothing special! He makes a lot of mistakes (dropping his lead hand, & backing up in a str8 line for starters), & i always knew when he got in there with a puncher he pay dearly for his mistakes! Now he is switching trainers to long time Personal companion Ozell Nelson. I personally think this may be a good thing, b/c Taylor has someone in his corner who genuinely cares for his well-being & come fight night Jermaine might actually listen to that voice he's been hearing all of his life...
Pavlik on the other hand i thought would get destroyed by Miranda but he took everything the Colombian slugger had to offer & beat him into submission. dBut what really stuck out about Pavlik was that 2nd round of the Taylor fight were he was basically out on his feet (b/c he was bull-****ting sticking his face "out there") & re-gained his composure & made the necessary adjustments to ultimately come back & stop the Champ; He kept his distance and IMO was out-boxing & out-jabbing the Taylor! That type of heart shows me that he is a true champ & earned my total respect!
I've been on record to say that Pavlik is going to KILL Taylor even easier this time, but i'm not so certain anymore! 1 thing for sure this will be the final measuring stick of Taylor's career in this rematch, he wins he's a great fighter...if he loses he was another product of corp hype & a decent kid who never lived up to his true potential!
you'd think some of these peopel could find better things to make fun of than the name of the fight " the epic battle continues " Whats wrong with that? What would you name it? The rematch?
I got Pavlik by KO,i dont know what to expect from Taylor, but i think Pavlik will learn from the early KO not to get ****y,what surpised me in the fight was Pavliks jab,he had the better jab of the two,he was landing it more and more effective,it worked great for him to set up the right hand, but one thing he has to do,which he didnt do in the first fight,THROW BODY PUNCHES,he needs to do this,Taylor stamina is suspect, hitting his body will make him tire quick and leave his head open down the stretch
I also must add I'm by no means taking anything from Pavlik on why I'm picking Taylor in the rematch.
Let me start by saying that Pavlik was getting some good shots on Taylor and he was outboxing Taylor on some exchanges. He also took Taylor best shots and came back strong. Pavlik showed he has a strong ****ing chin. I mean he took some good, flush shots and came back and KO Taylor. I mean you're a REAL SOLDIER to come back how Pavlik did against Taylor.
With that being said. I cant forget how Taylor was outboxing Pavlik either( for most of the fight). He was winning most of the exchanges when they were infighting. This time around will be different on both fighters part. Just watch and see. I cant wait for this fight. Even if Taylor does lose I still will be excited because Pavlik is a nice guy.
