Yeah well it's not going to be advertized as a pretty fight. There will be rounds when Joe moves in and out throwing jabs and moving (like Round 6 against Kessler), and when he just overwhelms Hop with his unorthodox timing and speed (Kessler Round 9), but more rounds will involve holding, wrestling, elbowing, and headbutting. The more rounds like that the better for Hop, though that doesn't mean he gets the better of any of that. Joe's nasty too.
Calzaghe Hopkins, who you got and why?

agree...B-Hop's gonna make Joe think alot in there meaning not throw as much...as each round goes by, Joe's punch output will slowly decrease and thats when B-hop goes to work using ALL his tools to hurt Joe....win or lose, B-hop's gonna win the cerebral war...
Joe will never, I repeat...NEVER be the same again...Comment

Which Big occasions has he risen to in the past?
Apart from him beating on little Tito & Oscar ?
And a win over an inactive overrated Tarver?
Or beating on the Light middle Winky?
This time he is fighting a PRIME FIGHTER his OWN SIZE who throws a 1000 punches a fight.
Bore-hard can barely throw 20 a round.
Tito, Winky, Tarver, Oscar, 20 MW title defenses. Taylor fights are still argued. I can't belive ya'll are questioning bhop's resume and not mentioning calazaghes. Who has fought the better competition?? When was the last time bhop lost decisively?? He finds ways to win. bhop is not Kessler, not Lacy. Bhop has experience with southpaws & is a defensive/ counterpunching mastermind. Just cause someone liek Calzaghe throws more punches doesn't mean he's gonna win. Thats just a quick dumb assumption for someone who doesn't know boxing. I think its going to be a close fight, most definitely. But Bhop will find a way to win, you can discect any fighters resume like you did above, but he gave Tito & Oscar there 1st and only KO's. Made Tarver look silly, and smacked Winky around. What else would you have liked him to do? Fight Calazaghe... well he's doing that & I'm confident he'll win.Comment

Calzaghe has beaten better competition; Hopkins has fought better competition.
Hop doesn't have a win of the same quality as Kessler, imo.
Calz losing to Taylor would have been unthinkable; this is the big issue here. You can't write these off. They destroyed Hopkins's legacy.Comment

I'd like to believe that Hopkins will be able to use superior timing to counter Calzaghe well enough to hurt and slow him down, but I have doubts. Calzaghe looked pretty fearless as he traded with Kessler (who looked better than I expected and who appears to throw harder than Bernard), so I don't think that he's going to be scared into throwing any less punches against Hopkins. I'd love for Hopkins to win an exciting fight, but, like most people, I think Hopkins may get badly outworked and embarrassed.Comment

Well Hopkins moved up to light heavy weight and beat the man who knocked out P4P king for over a decade (Jones).
Kessler was a good opponent but was predictable. All Joe had to do was watch out for Kessler's power shots. Hopkins is not as predictable. And his moderate activity rate may offset Calzaghe as he may not know when Hopkins will strike. He will have to think. Unless Hopkins comes in with his legs being all over the place (signs of a shot fighter) than Calzaghe should be in for a long hard fought battle.
Even at 43 this will be Joe's biggest test. This isn't Lacy, Bika, or Manfredo.Comment

This is a fight which I will not pay to see,in fact I will probably not even watch the replay.
Five years ago this might have been a great match-up.But now with Hopkins almost 43,and a loser of two of his last four fight...this is a fight just for him to make some money and head off into the sunset,or until the next hustle.
Calzaghe wins in a UD,in a boring slapfest...where Hopkins will simply not be busy enough to win.
Oh yeah,I will watch it online...
