  • Oddly enough, re-watched the Mitchell KO you linked, and youtube related video's;
    Joe Calzaghe - Michael Smyth 1990. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUtLD...eature=related

    No post comments from anyone, or info on what happened with the judges etc though.

    • some fighters are not as good as thier record suggests some people might say Antonion Tarver falls into this catergory ,but some fighters are a lot better than thier record suggest

      i put Zag in the latter catergory

        Yeah, I saw this before and forgot about it. As one of the comments says, he lost a fight to Adrian Opreda a few months later. That was the Prague fight, I believe, the last fight he "lost".

          "MANY PEOPLE, more from the US, said Lacy and Manfredo were big up and comers, quite solid before they met Joe, and he stunned them and people into realising they're not on his level. It's only since people have dis credited Lacy and Manfredo, thus the recognistion for Joe of those wins."

          Solid more applied to Lacy, but even so, it is true, that many, perhaps not a majority, but many, said Manfredo was a big fighter, very much up and coming, and had a good shot at beating Calzaghe, including Sugar Ray. It was said vastly more so for Lacy.

          Joe outclassed both. It was more post those fights, that Joe lost credit for winning those fights, as people now say there weren't so great fighters destined for big things, and instead are fighting each other. Face it, Lacy was supposed to outgun Joe, beat him, as the new Tyson esk yank fighter, he got caned by Joe, then later struggled to beat Manfredo, whom Joe beat even more easily.
          I didn't know of anyone who even gave Manfredo a chance. Listen, the guy couldn't even win The Contender series... how the **** did anyone with a brain give him a chance against Manfredo?

          The worst part is that he ****ing gave up his IBF belt to fight Manfredo.

          • the time is almost near for this post to be proven brilliant. remember, even if calzaghe wins a very close decision, he is still overrated cuz hops is 43.

              ROFL

              Back up post? You're a complete twat. If Calzaghe wins that is because he is better than Hopkins. Hopkins is still P4P top 10.

                  wait, so you are completely ignoring the fact that hops is 43 just to boost your beloved calzaghe? that is what you call true blindness.

                  the fact of the matter is this, calzaghe has to win by ko or an overwhelming decision to be considered a top p4p fighter like he has been for the last couple of years. it doesn't matter where hops is ranked in the p4p cuz he is exponentially deteriorating month by month. calzaghe is 35, that is the age of muscular peakness. hops has nothing going for him except his boxing iq.

                    Aren't you the guy that said Paul Williams would dominate and win titles in like 6 different divisions? And that Roy Jones Jr is still the most physically gifted boxer period, and could easily clean out the LHW division?

                      no, I never said that williams could dominate anything cuz I've never been a huge fan of his.

                      and yes, roy jones is still the most physically gifted boxer even at his current age and he could take the 4 main belt holders at that weight class. if you didn't see that from his last fight than you are just a hater.
