Yeah It looks pretty solid, except I personally wouldn't put a HW in the top ten P4P. I think that goes against the rules. Not like there really are any.

Except HW is the supreme weight so comparing the effectiveness of a fighter becomes difficult when you take into consideration Wlad's size.

He's ****ing huge.

I mean he's my favorite HW ever probably, and I think he's one of the most talented fighters in all of boxing. Sure Maybe he is worthy of some type of top ten "ranking" as a fighter.........not necessarily "Pound for Pound"

Because I think of guys under 200 lbs as being P4P material. The concept was put into place when there was first fantasy speculation about how SRR would fare against the heavyweights.

I don't hate calzaghe. he is a good fighter. but he is overrated. I see him atop so many p4p lists and I just don't agree with that. I don't think he has earned that high a ranking in p4p lists. and I don't blame him, its more his manger's fault than anything. Seeing calzaghe ranked higher than some1 like hopkins is unfair considering hopkins beat winky and tarver in his last 2 fights, while Calzaghe is fighting lower class oponents and getting more credit for it. thats all this thread is about, and I never imagined that it was gonna go this far. I didn't expect so many psycho brits to start spazing out and taking their lifes problems out on this thread.

You see that's where your argument loses all credibility my friend.

For a start by you highlighting the 'Country of Origin' you have took this argument away from a boxing debate to a Nationality debate, secondly many of the posters who have defended Calzaghe in this thread are from outside of the UK.

Based on that can you honestly put 10 boxers who as of today are ahead of Joe Calzaghe?

We are not talking about what they did 4 or 5 years ago we are talking about the last couple of years or so.

In that time Calzaghe has either defended or won the WBO, IBF, WBA and WBC belts, the two highly regarded and recognised opponents in his division he has met and beaten well.

We aren't talking about legends here, I'll admit that but we are also not talking about over the hill fighters or jumping up and down the weight divisions for the big pay days.

You mention Hopkin's and throw names like Tarver and Wright but they are in boxing terms old men, the last time Hopkins fought anyone in their prime he lost twice. (BTW Hopkins is a legend)

If you put Pavlik ahead of him you are insane, Pavlik beat Taylor agreed, but Taylor edged out a very old Hopkins, drew with an ageing Wright and S/D a light middleweight in Spinks, hardly HOF stuff is it?
Also Pavlik hardly dominated Taylor did he, Pavlik is a ****er and proved it!

Calzaghe met the two most dangerous fighters in his division and absolutely dominated one and comfortably beat the other.

I will concede that his resume should be better, I will concede that he is not and perhaps will never be classed as a legend but I cannot concede that he is not currently one the top ten fighters in the World in fact he has to be in the top five.

He has beaten NO ONE.....in 10 years thts amazing..hes the most protected fighter I have ever seen.

well for one, Lacy is and was overrated just cuz he had a belt. He didn't beat anyone even average for it.

Glenn Wilson - I've been looking forward to this for quite a while. Both fightes know that they are facing the best opponent they have ever been in the ring with. I see this going two rounds. Round one, Calzaghe picks his shots and grabs when he feels Lacy's power. Round two, both fighters opening up and Lacy catches Calzaghe to ends it. I believe there will be twelve rounds of action packed into two rounds.
