Calzaghe is overrated

  • Calzaghe was a good fighter but I did not like how he fought Hopkins and Jones when they were past prime. Still, I didn't see Pavlik, Taylor, Miranda, Abraham, or Wright beating him. Abraham and Wright had the best shot but their workrate would have lost them the fight. I'm far from a Calzaghe fan btw, but I gotta be honest about stuff like this as a boxing fan.

    With that said I think a prime Jones/Hopkins easily beats any version of Calzaghe.

      I agree 100%. His resume wasn't/isn't that good, especially up until the 12th 13th year of his career, but I don't see many fighters under 175 being able to compete with him, let alone beat him.

      The Hopkins rematch would look exactly the same as the first fight, a fight where you either favor Hopkins' clean punching or Calzaghe's activity. Dawson is the only one I see possibly beating him cleanly.
