      • I don't see why people claim that Calzaghe avoided Toney. Toney was fighting at light-heavy/cruiserweight whilst Joe was still at the domestic 168 level. Even if Joe had attempted to make the fight happen at that stage, There's no way Toney would've taken it because there would've been no financial benefit to him.

i thought you'd think that, lets be sensible now, a peak rjj was just on another planet, calzaghe is a good fighter but rj has everything jc has tenfold, speed, power, athletisism you name it, to say thats bull**** is way off the mark. the majority of opinions in jones v calzaghe thread were overwhelmingly in favour of jones

          • I think most can atleast agree that Calzaghe should be rated top 10 p4p unlike the threadstarter kswizzy99.

Every official and unofficial p4p list I've seen except the TS's has Calzaghe rated in the top 5 or near it.

Second of all, although anything can happen in a ring, i cant see calzaghe lasting against those two guys, he had more chance with toney, Jones was a complete no no.

But again, thats my opinion, not fact.
              Amen to that.
At least you realise that it is YOUR OPINION.
Which is more than can be said for the other blind fanny's on here I suppose.
This is the thing with RJJ.
He skipped quite a few challenges at 168 whether you like it or not.
The same way you are accusing Calzaghe of skipping opponents.
The truth is RJJ picked his own opponents as and when he chose and for far more than the Lions share of the purses all the time.
This is a problem of a lot of modern fighters and RJJ was a pioneer in the art of this.
It is one of the biggest factors in why we DON'T SEE TOP FIGHTERS FIGHTING EACH OTHER.

i agree, toney was already transforming into a fat slob when cal was beginning his rain as champ but he couldve fought jones but you must understand jones was the man and wanted the fight on his terms, clinton woods didnt moan about money/venue, he had an opportunity to fight the best in the world and he took it, jc's wbo title held very little leverage

                • Did Roy Jones ever beat Calzaghe at 168????
                  Answer is NO.
So NOBODY can say who would have won.
                  FACT.

Doesn't mean ****. Most of the people on here are yanks and half of them don't know anything about Calzaghe at all.

                    • nobody knows how Roy would have faired against Calzaghe in their primes

everybody thought Mosley would beat Forrest ,yet he proceeded to be thoroughly dominated

who had Honeyghan beating Curry ,styles make fights u cannot just assume Roy would win
