So why is it called "The Check Hook"?

It's a common punch used by most schooled boxers all around the world. It was one of the basic punches I learned when I started, so I don't understand the hype around it.

I thought it was called the check hook just because u r keeping the other fighter in check by ******* him in the face if he tries to come straight in to punch. It was keeping Hatton in check for a lot of the fight but he got kind of tired and Mayweather will make your ass pay if u r not at your top game.

Let me also add that the check hook was being used by Roy way before Floyd did it. My boy Jones claimed his rightful ownership on FNF.

Delahoya can then claim it cause he was doing it before Roy came to light, he named it i think colt 45 or some **** like that half hook, half upper cut, people who also followed delahoya early career should remember this.
