So why is it called "The Check Hook"?

It's a lead-hook that counters a charging attack by stepping to the side, letting the opponent continue his forward motion, while you land the hook to the chin. That's what my friend told me when we watched the fight. I always called it a sweeping hook.

The opponent charging in is the long straight line, while the fighter moving away and throwing is the short line going left.Last edited by Benny Leonard; 12-30-2007, 01:12 PM.Comment

this hook checks condition of fighter that gets this hook straight to the chin, the condition of hatton was so bad that he should lay down in 8 rd but somehow he survived till round 10 so this check hook that checked the condition of hatton to this moment showed that hatton needs the rest he can't continue from round 8 he was on autopilotComment
