sometimes being smart, you don't have so much heart. the world doesn't know that the welter weight division is hot and tough. it is where floyld hold his belt. yet no talk of it.

things like that make mayweather not so loved.

WBC Welterweight champion and pound-for-pound kingpin Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has discussed recent rumors of his return to the ring. Mayweather, fresh off a tenth round stoppage over Briton Ricky Hatton, had previously announced a lengthy hiatus from the sport - possibly as long as two years.

Citing a recent spate of fighters moving down in weight as their careers progressed, the "Pretty Boy" speculated that he may consider future fights at a lower weight class, possibly junior welterweight or lightweight. "Shane came back down. Oscar is going down. Winky just fought Bernard at 170, but he wanted to fight Oscar at 154. Ricky Hatton went back to junior welterweight, and he weighs more than me. I've always said that weights don't win fights. Skills pay the bills. When I come back, it will be for the biggest fights and the biggest names. It it don't make dollars, it don't make sense."

"Money" Mayweather addressed the issue of the challenges of making weight. "For me, it's not an issue. At all. I've always been in great shape. Me and Ricky talked about fighting at 140, but he didn't want to put his belt at risk. I never go above 150. Not even between fights. When I fought Arturo Gatti, he was 158, 159 something like that. I saw Stevie Forbes and Bojado. They were, what, 156 and 159. For a fight that was supposed to be at 140. So, you know, we'll just have to see."

While Mayweather did not specifically discuss future opponents, the indications are that he has an interest in facing current p4p companion Manny Pacquiao. While a size disparity is perceived, the Filipino idol struggled to make weight for his last bout vs. Mexican legend Marco Antonio Barrera. By fight time, Pacquiao had rehydrated to 144 pounds. WBO superfeatherweight titlist Joan Guzman, often mentioned as a potential opponent for Pacquaio, had had similar weight challenges. The Dominican rising star weighed 148 pounds for his bout with hard-hitting Humberto Soto.

Says Mayweather, "I'm going to talk to my team, and talk to Mark Taffet at HBO. We'll give the fans what they want."
if you wanna give the fans what they want then fight cotto, cause i don't know what he's talking about going to lightweight, ain't no fans asked for that.

I would rather see him fight Cotto than go down to LW, but a fight with Pac would be huge. He shouldn't retire because he has a bunch of fights that would make money and bring more attention to boxing as he did this year with the DLH fight and Hatton fight.

Twice now Ricky has been bulled around by two full sized welterweights; Collazo and Mayweather.. And bulling is Hatton's game. It don't take a rocket scientist to figure this one out. Ricky Hatton cannot compete at peak level at welterweight, he's too small. Nobody disputes that.

Floyd Mayweather is/was bigger than Ricky Hatton. You'd have to be a ****ing complete idiot to say or think anything otherwise.

Addy, you are trying to re-write history. Hatton only said that AFTER the fight.

Before the fight, he said "If Floyd tries to fight me inside, he'll be eaten."
              Graham said this:

BEFORE the fight, Hatton REPEATEDLY said that he would be the stronger man.

Secondly, if Mayweather is a "full sized welterweight", name two welters smaller than him.

Don't forget, you ALSO said I was a complete idiot for my prediction. How did that work out for you?

Floyd is gonna be bigger then ODLH very soon people, dude is smart as **** and his a better boxer then Oscar... Therefore he can pull things off like chaninging weight and making it A SUCCSESFUL venture thus leaving many more options left to persue... The win over Ricky left many options for Floyd in the WW division but it also made many options in other classes. A clash with Pac-man would rival that off Hatton-Mayweather, De La Hoya-Mayweather(recurring theme), because Pac has a very robust following himself and well 1.25 mil PPV buys sounds about like what this one could dish out... And with that in mind Floyd could quite possible be in-line for the biggest payday in boxing history and thats genious.. Also think if he fights Pac-man next it creates a big gap in fighting anyother WW contender thus creating time for fights betwn the likes of Cotto-William Cintron-Margarito to pan-out and self eliminate the losers from the lued trash talking and specualtion that they could beat Floyd! And ya the 24/7 on this **** would be NUTS
