yea im getting kinda tired of this Hippy nonsense, where we cant say anything bad about a fighter that wants to retire, and we just have to sit there and take it and say stuff like "good for him" and "he earned it."
We are what keeps the sport alive, we should be able to say whatever we wanna say and have someone of importance hear it.
No, you get me wrong. By all means, speak your mind and be honest about it.
But what I wanted to be picky about is the way one express oneself.
I never said he was barred from fighting in MMA, I just meant his boxing legacy was going to take a huge hit.
I'm guessing I can't criticize Tyson for raping that gal either can I? It's his life after all.
I didn't say you couldn't criticize... Oh, wait. Yeah, I ****ed up in my original post.
It didn't really come out the way I intended it to.
You can criticize Floyd for making the jump to MMA rather than fight Cotto.
What I meant to say is that slagging a guy off for not doing what you think he should do, is not right.
And why would his legacy in boxing take a hit because of it?
These sports are two separate things, and the challenge of jumping to MMA does not make Floyd a lesser boxer, nor does it compromise what he has done in the ring.
But as I said, I'm really fooked in my head right now. I might laugh hard at myself tomorrow..
I just wanted to chime in on the Kball defense I saw earlier in the thread. I haven't been around to see him acting like Ferocity as someone said but from my experience he's a really objective, intelligent poster - one of the tops on the site.
