Cintron Orders Steward To Get Him Margarito

Cintron might as well just give Margarito that IBF trinket if he signs this fight. It makes good business sense but I doubt Steward would approve of it after the Feliciano disaster of a performance. There's no way for Cintron to get a bigger payday besides Margarito in reality. Cotto nor PBF nor DLH are even looking at Cintron and Williams/Clottey wouldn't bring any money to the table at all so Tony is the best bet for a big money fight. Who knows? Maybe Cintron wants to cash out now or maybe his ego is hurt after Feliciano made him look bad and the backlash he got because of it and wants to prove something against Steward's advice.
All I know is that he's in for another bad beating because Margarito has been seriously pissed since losing his precious to Williams and this will make for a great big fight with Cotto somewhere down the line for unification.

I agree... They should have COTTO/ CLOTTEY and CINTRON/MARGARITO on da undercard the winners (COTTO/MARGARITO) would be a big unification bout not mention a damn good fight!! both fighters will go foward.. they wouldnt back down!

he already did, and Pwil said NO. kerm asked pwil to push their playdate back by a month (which is even before kerms doctor recomended, but kerm just wanted to make the fight), and pwils team said "No, we fight in february, with or without you."

my bad, it wasnt montaya, it was Ernest Gabion, reporter and message board master at the sight where boxing is the max. search around their sight if you want to see it, it's not hard to find. it was a follow up to the original article about the fight being called off. goosen said it in a follow up call. im not gonna post it here, out of respect for the scene.

While I do think he is ducking Paul Williams, you have to give credit to Cintron, He wants to avenge his loss and erase any memories.

I think Cintron is a better fighter than he was before but Margarito still wins this fight.

You would think he's ducking Williams, Cintron has been wanting to fight Margarito for a good while now. I don't see Williams calling out Margaritos name for a rematch.

Funny you give Williams a lot of credit for beating a bum in Margarito, before there fight all you would call him is a bum and now Williams best win is against Margarito lol, how ironic.

I agree with this fight, I thought this unification was planned too early in the first place. The only way Cintron can drop this Margarito hype is by doing the rematch. He'll eventually proceed to fight Williams anyway and if he wins both fights he'll finally get his respect in the WW division.

I don't think a fight with Williams followed by a fight with Margarito (which is bound to happen anyway) would do more for his carreer. People are hyping up Williams, but if he were to lose to Cintron I can see people saying he didn't fight anyone in this first place (except for Margarito).

I know you don't like the Margarito hype but had Williams rematched him and won again known the hype would stop. But again a fighter in Williams is refusing to fight Margarito so the hype begins again it was fighters not fighting him that started the hype, Williams not giving Margarito a rematch will allow the hype to continue.

And for the record I too think Cintron would beat Williams. He has more power then Margarito and Willilams almost tipped over many times vs. Margarito. And i don't think Williams will recover from that fight, but we'll see.
