    Has Floyd Already Reached Greatness?

Many say Floyd has to clean out the welterweight divison to get their respect, some say he needs to beat, whats in their opinion, the top welters. Anyone who really knows boxing knows that doesnt have to happen for Floyd to be considered an all time great because 147 is not Floyd's natural fighting weight. Floyd beats anyone his size and has and even bigger. Nobody said in order for Florida to be considered really the best team they need to beat a few NFL teams, even still Floyd has beat some really good welters and even a junior middleweight. Even before Floyd turned pro he was fighting at weights below 115 pounds.

Floyd is doing things that are really unimaginable, skipping your starting weight and jumping 17-24 pounds, you deserve to choose your fights, not to mention being in a position to do just that. Floyd doesnt need Paul Williams, first of all he is too big, again 147 isnt Floyd's natural weight and 147 shouldnt be P. Will's fighting weight, trust me he kills himself to get there. If boxing was like it really should be, with weigh-ins being 3 hours before a fight, which would make sense, since that way you wouldnt have fighters killing themselves to make weight to gain an advantage. Having a weigh-in 3 hours before a fight, the fighter wouldnt take that chance of being so weak that the guy who didnt struggle to make weight would actually have the advantage. This way, Oscar would have started fighting no lower than 147 and we would not be talking about him and the Hall of Fame in the same sentence.

Taking all this into perspective should allow one to really give Floyd his just due.

I think Floyd's biggest problem is that his turned up at a time when boxing isn't as popular as before and too many casual fans are unable to appreciate his ability. So in terms of his profile it's gonna be a struggle to gain recognition, but in terms of pure boxing ability I think he is certainly a great.

When I think of Mayweather, I can only compare to likes of Tiger Woods & Roger Federer, who would be considered geniuses in their sports when it comes to working out how to beat an opponent in any given situation.

Top 15 in my book. Beating Williams or Cotto would certify him top 10 in my opinion.

WTF? When you're talking about the best fighters of all time how the hell can you up 5 places from top 15 to 10 by beating Williams. That the most ******ed thing i've heard all evening.

Whilst it could be argued effectively that he's anything from top 10 to 20, to say he could overtake 5 of the best ever fighters by beating Williams is just ******
