Most people on here have no idea what boxing is, because after watching Williams' last 7 fights it's obvious his footwork and head movement are amazing. Even Lennox Lewis kept pointing that out vs Matthysse. He slips punches and even as he moves and dodges he keeps throwing his own. Mayweather could never hurt Williams, he's too small and Paul has too good of a chin. I think Paul would beat him, but not by a huge wipeout, but at least 7-5. All these haters writing him off, including that one idiot who said Cotto and Mosley were better are hilarious.

nmuburner is the only one who apparently understands boxing on here, along with the TS to some degree. Hopkins is 42, and beating guys like Tarver and Winky Wright. Mosley was gun shy vs Cotto in a fight he could've easily won. Tell me Williams wouldn't of mopped the floor with Cotto in that fight. Is Cotto going to box him from the outside when he gasses?? PLEASE. Get a grip and get ready because Paul Williams nickname should be The Truth, and it's coming soon to a 8 inch tv (that's what most of you losers have) near you.

    Oh, is that why? Interesting.

Name calling is juvenile and unnecessary.

He certainly has the stamina to do it, just like he did to Margarito. Floyd's game would be totally thrown off by the tall lefty who is tough, smart, and GAME (note how he won the crucial 12th round vs. Margarito with that bad cut over his eye).

Williams is a superstar in waiting. I love the guy. He could be the most dangerous welterwegiht of all time. He has all the attributes.

But he does not speak out about challening Floyd. Is it because he has the same advisor as FLoyd, the guy named Al Haymond?

Is Haymond focusing on getting FLoyd all the big fights at the expense of the possibly superior Williams? I think Williams is being held back. He has greatness. He is unbelievable what he can do in the ring for 12 rounds. Yeah he had a few off fights, like Clay vs. Sonny Banks and Doug Jones, but at his best Williams is AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME. With more potential than Mayweather.

Williams should be more expressive and outspoken about getting the fight with Mayweather, he could dominate him with ease IMO.
MABE HE'S NOT A BIG MOUTH AND HUMBLE.

I think Williams has a very good chance of beating Mayweather, better then anyone in my personal opinion. But But...Williams still needs to prove himself as a ligitamite contender. That Cintron fight would have helped him, but that fell through the cracks. Hopefully he'll keep dominating & land a decently big fight before he's even mentioned fighting flyod.

I have always said that Williams would have the best chance to beat Mayweather. But I wouldn't go so far as to say he would beat Mayweather 120-108, that's ridiculous. He strikes me as quiet, humble guy, so that's probably why he hasn't called Mayweather out. And he probably knows what even if he calls Mayweather out, Mayweather will just ignore him or just say Williams doesn't make sense financially, which is true right now.

Agreed. Williams, even as the 3rd best in the WW division, is standing in a long line I feel. Before he can call out Mayweather he would need to win his next fight, the winner of a Cintron-Margarito match if that does indeed happen, and a win over Cotto. That would create too much noise for Mayweather to ignore. I think Williams knows he has to do this first.

Margarito, Clottey and Williams all give Mayweather headaches for different reasons. In my opinion, all 3 beat him. Mayweather will avoid them all like the plague. All you Floyd Fanboys.... Why hasnt Floyd fought a legit prime WW yeat?? He ducked Margarito, fought Zab(a very good jr WW) He ducked Margarito again and fought a 35 year old unknown in Carlos Baldomir. He ducked Margarito again to make a littlle $$ and fought a businessman(cant really fault him for fighting DLH), who had been virtually inactive. I think Oscar had 2 fights in 3 years. coming into the Mayweather fight. Then he ducked all of the WW's in the world to fight a jr WW in Ricky Hatton. Go figure. i think its about time Money May put up or shutup at WW if he's gonna be considered the best at that weight.

Maybe Williams is just a realist. Could he compete with Mayweather? I think so. Is it REALISTIC that he gets the fight? No way. There is NO money in a Williams fight for Mayweather, not even if he unified with Cintron first. Not even if he did that and then beat Margarito again.

The only options for Mayweather are Cotto and a DLH rematch. Cotto has been brought along brilliantly by Arum and his profile is up there because of all the HBO slots. Williams has been on HBO three times, twice in ridiculous BAD mismatches. Cotto has been on several HBO shows and two HBO PPVs. It's night and day. Williams knows this. Why waste his breath?
