The fight was good, it just didn't live up to the expectations of some people because of all the hype.

Well seems i was wrong bout people hating the fight. Its just i see so many posts saying that the fight was **** and i quote
"who needs sleeping pills when you have de la hoya-mayweather"
so the general impression i got was that people hated it!Comment

The only thing you have to see is the clip that they always show: De La Hoya Tapping Mayweather in the left side of his body 3 times. To me those are not even considered punches. It wasn't a horrible fight (for a true boxing fan) but you could tell they were both in it for the money, and like every huge de la hoya fight, he never lives up to his hype.
Since 2.4 Million people tuned in, most that aren't boxing fans, and saw a boring fight, it hurt the sport. Prob about a million of those fans will not buy a boxing event for awhile. Thats another reason I dislike this fight. Plus I think ODLH is an overrated B class fighter.Comment

Watching it live was great. Not knowing what will happen in a fight to me is always exciting. but I re watched it once and it just wasnt a very exciting fight. Hatton/ Floyd was better with the TKO and all..and the pressure Hatton was putting on early was exciting, watching Floyd adjust etc.Comment

They just stared at each other much of the fight. It was really boring. Neither guy wanted to take a chance. This fight turned off many casual fans to boxing who were watching purely because of the hype.Comment

No doubt......
I thought it was a decent fight but I was pissed at DLH taking rounds 8-10 off practically......He should have and could have won the fight had he kept using his jab and working more in those rounds.Comment
