Ricky left himself open All Night Long for that left hook to the right side of his face, as just one example.

You would think somebody in his corner would have spotted it and told Ricky to cover his face when he kept coming in on Floyd throwing those shots with his left.

Castillo has learned from the best pressure fighters. I'm not saying Hatton is as intelligent as boxers like Julio Cesar Chavez or Roberto Duran were with their pressure but he sure isn't like Mayorga with it either.
Hatton does come in straight lines and sometimes open and Mayweather made him pay for making that mistake one too many times.
But he also comes in very fast and only someone like Mayweather can counter him like that.

Hatton did NOT come in in straight lines in the beginning of the fight.

Just have a look at the fight again and see for yourself.

If you look at the end of round 8, it was that EXACT SAME PUNCH that got Hatton in trouble. The exact same.

And then he repeats the mistake four minutes later.

Hatton telegraphs his LEFT hook by dropping his RIGHT hand to his waist. That is when Floyd slides and unleashes.

Of course there are changes which have to be made throughout a fight but my impression was that Mayweather realised pretty earlier what adjustments to make while Hatton didn't and eventually started making errors because he didn't have a clue what to do. I don't know how much of what happened could have been changed by tactics though because it became clear that the fight was going to be stopped by the eighth round.

I agree but it still took 10 rounds for Mayweather to time that punch just right with enough power and speed to put Hatton out. But it was just a matter of time.

Mayweather was going for the knockout to silence the critics and when Hatton still rushed forward after Floyd made him eat those right hands all night he needed something else.

Hatton was caught with a left hook he never saw coming (he should've though).
Props for Hatton, he is very tough and I didn't think he would survive that eight round. I didn't think he would even try to get up after he went down either.

top post ,Hatton also throws left hooks when his oponents are moving to his right which in my book is a big no no. if they go left throw the left hook if they go right throw the right hand
