Shot has to do with your physical attributes not your mindframe or training methosds. Being shot means you lose your speed and reflexes as well as other attributes and once those are gone they won't come back.
Fighters becoming “Unshot”

Shot fighters can sometimes learn to compensate for their declining skills and reflexes by upping their conditioning and using their ring experience. Sometimes a fighter will just appear to be shot when it is more of a case of them being burnt out and just going through the motions while training. An older fighter needs to fight less often to avoid this. I don't think Hopkins would be the same if he were fighting 3-4 times a year now.Comment

I think fighters could become unshot, even though some fighters who just lost to good fighters weren't shot in the first place but labeled so.
Roy Jones was supposed to be shot, now he will probably never be the fighter he was, but he's still a great fighter atm and seems to have his confidence back.
Hatton and Taylor have been called shot on this forum, people even believing Hatton should retire. Taylor could still do great things and Hatton still has a great chance of achieving greatness at 140. But I never believed these fighters to be shotComment

You're saying that he looked better against Byrd and Toney than he did against Ibragimov?
I'm not saying he is "unshot" BTW.. but I think he looked better than as of recent.
BTW... after Sanders TKO and Brewster's TKO and ****ty performance against Peter, many have written off Wladimir Klitschko as a has been, could have been, never been.. whatever... But with the right mental trainer he came back to the top and is stronger than ever...Last edited by !! Mr. Soprano; 12-26-2007, 02:18 PM.Comment

I agree, Roy Jones was the latest example of this phenomenon. It'll be interesting to see how Holyfield looks later this month against Valuev...Comment
