Middleweight division vs Super Middle Weight Division

    The Middleweight division:

    - Pavlik
    - Jermain Taylor
    - Arthur Abraham
    - Felix Sturm

    Super Middleweight division:

    - Joe Calzaghe
    - Mikkel Kessler
    - Anthony Mundine
    - Luciano Bute
    - Inkin
    - Edison Miranda
    - Froch

There are some great fighters in both middleweight and the super middleweight division. So which division is stronger?

My thoughts: I feel that although the middleweight division has 4 strong fighters, who are belt holders. Super middleweight is even stronger than that. There are 8 fighters who could win belts. And Bute and Mundine are breathing down Kesslers neck, or have the ability to. I think SMW is stronger than Middleweight.

    Your thoughts?

the middleweights are better, PAVLIK AND TAYLOR beat everybody @ 168, with the exception of calzaghe.

edison miranda is overrated and i'm tired of people discussing him. he's the worst skilled fighter of all the "names" in boxing, even worse then mayorga

Once again you show your ignorance. Do you honestly think Pavlik is as good as Kessler or Calzaghe?

You just don't like foreigners, b/c you're trailer trash.

Your having a joke right? Kessler destroys Pavlik. Calzaghe destroys Pavlik. Mundine starts as favourite against Pavlik.

Another question. Would Mundine win a title at middleweight? he has talked about moving down numerous times.

Both are very good divisions in boxing right now, but the clear edge has to go to the super middleweights.

begs the question, how many divisions do you think are better than super middleweight?

I don't know why people say Kessler would destroy Pavlik. Kessler is an awesome boxer with power but Pavlik is tough enough to hang with him.

I'm not going to say Pavlik is actually going to beat Kessler but it's one match I'd like to see because I think it would be competitive.

Maybe it's because Pavlik is a bit too hyped after his wins over flawed Taylor and Miranda and people are getting sick of it. Let's see if he can prove some doubters right or wrong against Taylor in the rematch.
