According to a recent report in IC Wales, the much hyped showdown between WBO/WBC/WBA super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe and light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins is close to done. The bout is scheduled to fall on an April date in Las Vegas. The date of April 12 has been thrown around in some circles. [details]

I have always respected the fact that B-hop always finds a way to win a fight against all odds, but I dont think he can beat Joe C. at this point in his career. I would have been cheering for Hopkins as well up until his "Aint no white boy gonna be me!" comment. I have always been a Hopkins fan, but now Im excited to see Joe shut his racist mouth.

Hopkins hasn't got any of his demands. In front of the media he likes to act like he is "legend" and can make all the requests. Hopkins wanted the fight at the Yankee Stadium in July with a 60-40 split. Instead the fight will be a 50-50 split in April in Las Vegas. Calzaghe wanted equal money and wanted the fight earlier in April.
