To me two guys punching each other in the head trying to KO each others tougher than rolling about on the ground trying to get each other into locks.
Watch this (local)in shape MMA fighter up against a badly out of shape amatuer boxer.

The MMA guy gets Ko'd, they cant take the head shots.

The ignorance displayed by some of boxing fans in this topic towards MMA as a sport is comparable to the ****** stuff that comes out of some MMA nuthuggers mouths.

I'm a fight fan and I can tell you both sports are tough. Boxing is more dangerous though, especially if you're a fighter like Gatti or Baldomir who takes punches to the head for a living.

On the other hand a good defensive fighter like Mayweather doesn't take much punishment at all.

You can make either sport tough for yourself depending on the type of a fighter you are. If you're a quitter you won't get hurt, if you're a warrior, you will.
