What makes you root for a Fighter?

As much detail as you want.

For example, personality, style, country, who he is fighting for, etc.

And have you ever rooted against a fighter you once rooted for, and why?

    Mainly skill. Sometimes personality.

Most recent example would be Hatton vs Mayweather. I knew Mayweather was going to win because he was the better skilled fighter but I wanted Hatton to win because of his personality.

      Personality, achievements, style.

Someone like Bernard Hopkins I love, his personality, his style and the fact that he' still boxing into his 40's and being competitive, I just all round like the guy.

As for a boxer like Anothony Mundine I just don't like very much, never steps up and fights good fighters, clings onto any achievement no matter how small and convinces himself he's the best there is and is just an all round ****.

Commitment and skill. Not in that order, though.

I like a fighter who looks different, fight to fight, aswell. Can adapt. Fights well, fairly clean and his personality is really the last thing on my mind.

i always take who is p4p number one and when they lose i take the next guy in line. its cool because i get to root for a lot of great fighters. on a serious note though, i will never root for any fighter born outside of USA, unless they are eastern european.

I root for fighters who comes from tough backgrounds. Also, I like them to talk alot of ****.. They don't need to be as good in the ring as Jones or Mayweather. He can slug, I don't mind. Aslong as he got that background and talks alot of ****, likes to talk about himself. Thats the kinda I like. I don't like those quiet fighters that just dosen't talk ****, such as Oscar never talks any ****. At the Mayweather conferences he just sat there saying nothing. I don't like that, even if it is business.

I seldomly, if ever, actually root for a boxer.

I do however root for boxers to lose quite often.

haha, im not sure, he can fight though. i agree with you about fighters that talk ****. boxing is entertainment, watching someone talk a lot of **** and backing it up is pretty cool, and pretty funny sometimes when they dont(thanks for the laughs ricky).
