We know that he may very well fight Cotto.

But other than the people he has already faced... who should he have fought? Honest question. It's not fair to say that Leonard fought this and that... he had those people available to him. It was a great era.

You can only go by who is there. You can't fault someone for not having fighters like Duran and Hearns during their time. That being said Cotto, IMO, is cut from their cloth and has very big things on his horizon. Floyd facing him would do wonders for his legacy and WILL HAPPEN.

Generally speaking, I agree. So it becomes necessary to ask WHO did you win the belts from, or who did you beat at those various weights.

        In Floyd's case,

        130, Genaro Hernandez : One of history's better SFW's.

135, Jose Luis Castillo : One of the best LW's of his era.

140, Ricky Hatton: The best 140er at the time.

147, Zab Judah: One of the best WW's of his era.

154, Oscar Delahoya: One of the best 147/154ers of his era.

3 or 4 of those guys will get some HoF consideration. And he beat three of them in a pretty dominant fashion.

Good thing the fight wasnt at 140 when it could have came off, or floyds legacy would look rediculous with linear championships in 4 weightclasses in terms of having fought the best from at least 3 of those 4.

You're an educated guy. I'm sure you understand the "Or who did you beat at those various weights" part.

"Undefeated" may have been fought at 147. But it was essentially a fight b/w the two top JWW's.

You're looking at it all wrong. Corrales was washed up from draining himself and from taking too many punches after the two Castillo fights.
Same as Fernando Vargas who also just turned 30.

And floyd is 2-0 vs Castillo and don't you forget it.
