I personally think he would do well if he learns how to defend take downs. I think he by far and away has the upper hand with striking other than kicks. And he doesn't compare to other boxers who have entered mma cuz he is smarter than them and he has superior athletic ability. But if he does get taken down, he would most certainly lose in no time.
Would mayweather do well in MMA?

If he can avoid getting taken down and stay on his feet, then hell yea.
MMA guys punch like amatuers and cant box, so if Mayweather makes it a boxing match, then it would be an easy night for him.
And he's quick enough to avoid being taken downComment

Hes a incredible athlete so yes I believe IF he dedicate himself to MMA he could compete....would he do well? I dont think he would unless he was slowly built up.I personally think he would do well if he learns how to defend take downs. Problem is that Floyd is a one trick pony as of now. He has incredible striking with his hands but lacks any skills in any other areas. He doesn't know kicks, how to defend kicks, doesn't know **** in a clinch, takedown defense, grappling, cage tactics....on and on...
Most guys who come from a strictly striking background don't perform well in MMA....thats pretty much a fact. Mirko CroCop is an obvious example of someone who did well...but just because he happen to make a good transition from Kickboxing to MMA didn't mean other Kick boxers who were better than him made the transition. Boxers generally have a harder time going to MMA since they have less tools to work with.Comment
